Captured

Chapter 12

On the day before their wedding they were not allowed to see be together. They would talk on the phone or they would do video calls from time to time. Everything was set. Her wedding dress was beautiful. It had a bodice full of Swarovski gems and a full flowing skirt. EJ didn't know anything about her wedding dress. So it's going to be a surprise to him.

On the day of their wedding the time where the sun was about to set their ceremony ended. They held the reception area at the vast garden of Rivera's. The guests were enjoying the food and the live band performances. Everybody was in the middle of chatting with each other when EJ went to the stage with Kristine and took the microphone to catch everybody's attention.

"How's everyone doing? Well if we can get your utmost attention. We just have an important announcement to make."

EJ clasps his free hand with Kristine's and smiled at her.  Everyone was looking at them while waiting for the announcement.

"It's been months since I met my lovely wife. At first sight, I know she's the one I want to marry. I courted her and learned that she is stubborn as hell!"

Everyone laughed lightly and continued to listen.

"When we were working together at the school, I saw how dedicated she is to her work. She admires her students so much and eventually we end up talking about them instead of talking about us."

Kristine chuckled and tapped his arm lightly. She admits that when she starts talking about her students it would come to a halt if EJ reminds her that they were out on a date.

"The thing I love about Kris is that she is sensible, kind-hearted, affectionate, and she thinks about others before herself. The night I told her that I wanted to court her, I never felt so nervous my whole life. Then when she answered "yes" I was so happy. She wanted to separate our work relationship and personal relationship. At first I didn't know why but I finally knew why. Everybody loves her. I was not the only one that loves her. The whole campus loves her. The students, the staff and the parents! I had one student tell me not to hurt Ms. Kristine or his boys will slash the tires of my car!"

Everyone laughed. Even Kristine didn't know about this. She was guessing it was one of her boys from the school volleyball team.

"I know if they see their Ms. Kristine sad or in a bad mood I expect my car tires slashed! But that's not what I - or Kristine and I wanted to share with all of you. First of all I want to thank everybody that celebrated this memorable day with us. Kris and I also wanted to thank our parents. Please always remember that we love you guys."

He cleared his throat and continued

"So, a couple of days back before our wedding, I brought Kris to the hospital coz she fainted. I skipped work and had to reschedule all my meetings but I will do that anytime if Kris is in danger or if anything happens to her. So, when she woke up she had this goofy smile plastered on her face when I entered the room. I was dead worried about her yet she gave me a goofy smile! That day we found out that eight months from now we will have our own prince or princess and we'll be parents! Mom and Dads I guess you need to set up a nursery room in your houses!"

Their parents were so happy both their mothers were crying. EJ and Kris went down and they were greeted with their parents and siblings. 

Both of them agreed that they will go to the hospital the day after their wedding for their baby's first prenatal check-up. Although Dr. Faye said the fetus was stable she told Kris to visit an obstetrics gynecologist. She was referred to Dr. Janelle Gabriel, the best in town. The wedding reception ended around 8 in the evening. EJ took her hand and they started walking towards the car. They both went in and buckled up.
