Chapter 13

After their wedding ceremony the next day they went to the clinic for the prenatal check-up. Dr. Janelle, checked on the fetus and cleared that the fetus is stable for now and allowed her to travel but with some restrictions due to the early stage of her pregnancy. Both of them are happy. Right after their appointment with Dr. Janelle, they went to the airport to go to their weeklong honeymoon in South Korea. They explored the popular Jeju Island, Nami Island, several national museums. They also tried wearing traditional Hanboks and took a lot of pictures by the end of the week they decided to stay at their hotel suite and make love when they desired. 

When they went back to Midea, they were focused on their own jobs. Kristine didn't want to quit working as a Special Education Teacher so she agreed that when she reaches her 6th month of pregnancy she will file for maternity leave and would stay home to take care of herself and their baby. Their daily routine is they would eat breakfast together and EJ would drop her to work then he'll go to the office after. 

Months passed and Kristine was on her 5th month of pregnancy. She didn't have any morning sickness on her first trimester but she would often crave for vanilla ice cream and red fruits like strawberries, apples, cherries and watermelon. She wanted it sliced and served cold. She was also into smoothies and bananas. Which she didn't really like when she was not pregnant. She also hated the smell of her husband's cologne. She would kick EJ out of their room if she smelled him wearing his cologne. 

EJ on the other hand, was having a great time working as CEO in the company. After his wedding, the deal offers went up and their sales also went up. The only downfall is that he would come home late and don't have much time for his wife. Even on weekends he is busy doing work at his office at their home. His assistants would come and go in their house during the weekends to drop documents and to ask for his signatures. He noticed that his wife is sad at the fact that they don't spend time together.

EJ called his two assistants into his office. "Free my schedule this weekend. I don't want any calls forwarded to me if it is not an emergency. Both of you are free for the weekend but if something unexpected happens try to fix it." 

"Yes Sir." His two male assistant replied. 

"Oh and more thing. Sean, find out who is sending these notes." He opened his drawer and took out a bunch of letters and gave it to his assistant Sean.

 "I have been receiving letters for the past months. I'm fine if the target is me, but it's my wife!" He explained. 

Every morning after their wedding Lydia would give him a letter that is addressed to his wife. When he opened one of the letters, at first it was like a stalker's letter but when he read the latest ones it is becoming a death threat already. He hired bodyguards to look after his wife from afar because he knows that his wife would not be comfortable going around with big bulky men beside her. 

"Sir, may I ask do you know anyone who has motives for Madame?" Martin his other assistant asked.

"I'm not sure but find out who is sending that damn notes and add two more men guarding my wife idly. I don't want to risk her and my baby's safety."
