Chapter 14

Their weekend was well spent. They had a good time walking by the beach and swimming in the infinity pool of the villa. They also found out that they are expecting a baby boy. The next heir to the Rivera Group of Companies. Dr. Janelle advised her to take it slowly from now on and to avoid stress as much as possible. 

It was Monday. They did their morning routines and EJ dropped her to the school. He was greeted by the students and the teachers. It was Josh and Joe's supervision day when they greeted him. 

"Hey bro. I think Mrs. Parker wants to talk with you. She's in her office." Josh told him.

He went in the office and knocked on Mrs. Parker's door. "Come in." He went inside and sat down on the couch.

"EJ! I know you are a busy bee but I want you to know we are throwing Kris a surprise baby shower on Friday. We need your help since it's going to be held in a nearby restaurant. I'll send you the information once we have settled it. Is it okay with you? Please let the family know." His auntie explained to him.

"Yes Tita. I'll let the family know and I will be waiting for the information."

"Okay. I'll see you then."

He went back to his car and his driver drove him to his office. When he arrived, his two assistants were waiting for him at the front entrance of their building. He started walking with his assistants followed by his four bodyguards behind them. 

"What's the schedule today Martin?" He asked his assistant for his daily schedule. This is a routine he had before his day start.

Martin looked at his iPad and recited his boss' schedule. "You have a meeting with Mr. Fujihara from Japan at 9:00. He wanted to discuss about the proposal you gave last week. You have a 10:30 meeting with the sales team for the quarterly sales report. Documents have been printed and placed on your desk. You also have a lunch meeting with the CEO of Werner Chemicals. Mr. Brad Werner wanted to talk to you personally about the chemicals his company is providing for our cleaning products."

"Hmm. Did you get the required documents regarding the Werner company?" He asked while waiting for their elevator ride.

"Yes Chairman. It's on your desk. You have a two o'clock meeting with Ms. Alicia Greene from our business magazine. I already scanned the questions and printed it out." Martin gave him the questions. The elevator stopped on their floor. He strode out of the elevator and went to his office with his assistants. 

"Martin, Sean take a seat. I have something to discuss with the both of you." His two assistants sat down on the chair at the front of his desk. "Starting tonight don't call me unless it is urgently needed. My wife prohibited me to do work if I'm at home or if I'm around her. So, if it's a not serious problem handle it by yourselves. Understand?" 

His two assistants nodded. 

"Martin, did you check the Engineering and Architecture Department for the new factory building project? I need to meet with them this afternoon to check on the plan also include the Accounting Head for the estimated costs." He was browsing through the files for his first meeting.

"Yes Chairman. I already told the concerned teams and we will meet after your interview with Ms. Greene." Basically, Martin is in charge of his schedules, meetings, and work-related matters. Sean on the other hand is in charge of personal matters like personal background information, deep dark pieces of information related to a person, company and other deep underground secrets.
