"I will make you shut up." Roman threatens when Virgil teasingly brings up an embarrassing fase Roman went through as a kid. They're both in Virgil's room. They've just watched a few movies over some McDonald's take away and are now getting ready to go to a drag show. Apparently Remy had four tickets and he decided to give the remaining two to Roman. Who in his turn decided to invite Virgil. Virgil honestly never expected himself to be someone to enjoy drag queen performances, but he decided to give the show "Rupaul's drag race" a go and he instantly fell in love with that world. He has mad respect for the men who can dress and act so fierce despite the hate they still receive from a big part of the world. Sometimes even from their own family. He even dabbled in make up and cross dressing himself, but quickly decided that wasn't for him. He wouldn't want his mom to find out either.
"Yeah? You and what army?" He smirks at his friend. It's already been a month since Halloween and Roman hasn't grown tired of him yet. They've only been growing closer. Strengthening the friendship they both had and have again. Virgil knows Roman can tease him about many things as well. Kids just really aren't the smartest and sometimes they're too stubborn to listen to their parents who in this case were correct in saying Roman did not suit a fedora on his mop of brown wavy hair.
"I don't need an army." Roman replies as he swiftly moves to tackle the younger man on the bed. Virgil yelps surprised when they both fall on his bed. Roman on top of him. He grabs the pillow from underneath his head to hit him with it. Not giving up that easily. Roman grumbles as he tries to keep Virgil down while dodging the pillow. He straddles his lap. Trying to pin Virgil's wrists above his head to prevent him from doing that self defense move again. Not that Virgil would be able to in this situation without accidentally hitting Roman against his wall or pushing him on the floor. Virgil giggles as he tries to get away in a different way, but he can't get his hands free.
"Hurray! Victory!" Roman scants proud of himself as he smirks down at the now pinned down Virgil who's still snickering softly.
"I let you." Virgil boasts stubborn.
"Right." Roman grins sarcastically. Leaning closer to the boy. "You will never defeat me." He whispers smug in the boy's ear. Virgil feels the hair in his neck stand up and squares his jaws to not react. Suddenly very aware of how they're positioned. Roman notices the goosebumps erupting on Virgil skin from being tickled by his breath and looks pleased at it. His heart skipping a beat when he sees just in what way Virgil is currently sprawled underneath him. His eyes lock with Virgil's and slowly their carefree smiles falter as they get lost in those portals. Without intending too, Roman looks at Virgil's lips. His body screaming to just lean down and capture them with his own. He flicks his eyes up at the other boy's dark brown ones again. Virgil feels the ridiculous need for Roman to just lean down and kiss him. He looks at the other boy tentatively while every inch of his skin in touch with the man above him feels like it's on fire. It's like he's in a trance, but when he notices Roman lean closer he quickly forces out a laugh.
"You may have won this battle, but don't get over confident now, princey." He teases. Taking them back to where they were before he'd do something actually stupid, like kissing his best friend and sending him running again. Roman seems to wake from a slumber as well and blinks a few times before laughing softly as well.
"I wouldn't dare." He smirks before getting off of Virgil to let him sit up again. Virgil punches him on the shoulder with a forced smile. Hoping it comes across as believable while he's yelling "Idiot!" At himself in his own mind. Roman snickers when Virgil punches him. He tries his best to act normal, but inside he can't stop wondering what the hell just happened. He's been over flowing with happiness since Virgil's back to being his best friend, but what he wanted to do wasn't something between friends. He looks back at Virgil who's strapping on his black shoes with the purple laces. Relieved the younger man isn't paying attention to him because he's most definitely sure Virgil would realize he's bothered with something if he did. The same way Roman luckily isn't paying too much attention to Virgil who's dealing with the same struggle.
"Guys?" Virgil's roommate sounds up. Both Virgil and Roman look up startled. Were they that loud that his roommate heard them? No, he can still hear the music coming from the common room. Another knock is heard and Virgil sighs loud as he gets out of bed. His shoes already secure on his feet. Roman follows him curious.
"Guys?" The voice sounds again as the door starts to open slowly. Virgil opens it fully to reveal his very clearly wasted roommate.
"Yeah?" Virgil asks. Instantly annoyed by the sight. Knowing there won't come anything remotely important out of the other's man mouth.
"Hi!" Marten beams when he sees Virgil and Roman. Virgil shares a look with the man behind him. Roman looks mildly amused as well as confused.
"Will you tell me if I'm being too loud?" His roommate asks. Clearly trying to come off as serious, but failing miserably in his current state.
"Yeah, will do." Virgil promises. Already ready to close the door again.
"I'm on my last warning, so that's really all I want." Marten continues talking and Virgil swallows a sigh before it can escape past his lips. "For you to say it when it gets too loud." His roommate clarifies. His equally drunk friends now joining behind him.
"Hi! Sorry if we're loud!" A girl yells. Virgil ignores her. He's seen her a couple of times, but before now she's never said a word to him so he's not going to start acknowledging her now either.
"Don't worry about it." Roman comments when Virgil remains quiet for probably too long. Too focused on not showing his annoyance.
"I'll turn it down and we'll be gone in a few, but tell me when we get too loud because I don't want to end up on the street." Marten repeats once again.
"Okay, I'll tell you." Virgil promises once again as well.
"Aw yeah, thank you. Come here. We're a family." His roommate pulls him, and even Roman, in a hug.
"Yeah alright, Marten." Virgil pats his back before escaping the drunk and gently pushing him back. Trying not to gag from the overwhelming alcohol smell.
"Thanks guys!" Another friend, Dylan, calls before Virgil finally closes the door again. Sighing relieved the interaction is over as he leans against it. Roman snickers softly.
"Well, that was--something." He comments.
"I barely ever see him sober." Virgil mutters as he goes back to his phone to check the time. "Or quiet for that matter." He adds with a scrunched up nose. Roman chuckles softly.
"I can imagine." He looks over his shoulder at the closed door amused.
"Oh no, you can't." Virgil shakes his head. Showing Roman the time to let him know they should go. Roman grabs his phone and wallet from Virgil's desk.
"I'm here a lot. I've noticed the partying." He points out as he lets Virgil go outside first. Luckily the party people have temporarily retreated to Marten's room so they can slip out unseen.
"But you're usually not here at night." Virgil comments. He says usually because it started happening more and more often that Roman stays over after they've spend an entire evening binging a show. Or the other way around. The two men too tired to bother going back to their own apartment to sleep there. Virgil still often feels the tension to not lay too close to Roman, but other than that he actually feels a lot more at ease with Roman beside him. It's almost like the voices inside his head aren't as loud when he's laying next to him. Roman hums.
"Okay sure, but I get the idea, right?" He quirks a confused eyebrow at Virgil. Virgil smirks softly when he sees it.
"Remember that one week where he didn't have parties for a while?" He asks. Roman nods.
"Yeah, that was odd." He admits.
"Yeah well, you didn't have the hear the reason for that." Virgil replies. Roman looks down at him. Waiting to hear more.
"Okay now I'm curious." He speaks up again when it looks like Virgil isn't going to say more.
"I really don't think you want to know." Virgil shakes his head amused. Roman scoffs offended.
"I really think I do." He objects. Virgil looks up at him for a few moments before letting out a chuckle.
"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you." He gives in. Roman nods as he leans closer to really hear the story.
"Okay, so Thursday night before the no party week he had what was probably the biggest party he's had so far. I stayed in my room for most of it, but I went to the freezer to get some ice cream and boy were they wasted. Like barely able to stand on their feet wasted. I don't even think they realized I was there. That's how drunk they were." He paints the picture. Roman snickers softly as he imagines the scene in front of him. Virgil grins softly up at his friend before continuing.
"Anyway later that night it seemed to finally have toned down aside from the music, so I carefully left my room to put the ice cream back in the freezer and I decided to close his bedroom door to keep the music out as best as possible. I stopped in the hallway when I heard someone puke in his bathroom though and before I could take another step I suddenly heard something far worse." He shivers at the memory.
"What? What did you hear?" Roman asks eager.
"Can't you guess?" Virgil looks up up at him. He really doesn't want to be reminded of that moment again.
"Just tell me." Roman nudges him impatient. Virgil lets out a big sigh.
"He was having drunk sex in his room. With the door wide open. And his drunk, passed out, friends scattered around in his room." He tells him. Roman bursts out laughing.
"No way." He looks at Virgil in shock. The younger man nods.
"Yeah, but that's not even the point of the story." Virgil continues.
"There's more?" Roman looks baffled.
"He broke his dick." Virgil blurts out. Roman blinks at him before bursting out in another fit of giggles.
"How do you even know that?" He wonders between laughs. Virgil snickers softly at his reaction.
"After I rushed back to my room, traumatized for life, I heard a scream. The next morning one of his friends told me what happened. Apparently the girl didn't say a word to him when he brought her back home." Virgil explains.
"Oh that's so awkward." Roman laughs. Half disgusted half falling apart from laughter. Virgil hums.
"It was a very pleasantly quiet week after that." He concludes. Roman chuckles as he looks away.
"I did not expect that." He admits with a hum. Virgil snickers softly. "And to know you almost walked right up to that to close the door." Roman keeps laughing.
"Yeah, no, keep laughing at your traumatized friend. Very comforting." Virgil glares at him. Voice more teasing than serious. Roman looks at him with a smirk before pulling him closer by wrapping his arm around Virgil.
"Next time, you can stay over at my place. Patton and Logan aren't nearly as, uh, adventurous as Marten." He promises. Virgil giggles softly at his choice of words.
"I really, really, really hope there won't be a next time." He reacts. Making Roman laugh once again.
