Chapter 7

"So, where are we off to?" I say quickly, eager to change the subject.
"I was hoping to get your sister out of that hellish place."
"They won't let you in." This fact agitates me more than anything else.
"We can still communicate. "
"They won't let you, I just said that."
"They don't have to. Your sister's telepathic. So are you, so am I." I had forgotten the whole runs-in-the-family thing. "I can use your emotional attachment to her to communicate."
"Fine. I just want my sister." with this confirmation, he places his hands expertly on my head. This is getting weird.
"Ow!" I exclaim. He pulls away and inputs something into the computer. That really hurt! It was almost as if he sent an electric charge through my skull. I'm getting tired of him not telling me things. I'm done with this.
"If you don't start explaining things to me then I am leaving right now." I head to the door.
"Wait!" He screams urgently. I pause with my hand on the door. " I need you. I can't tell you why yet. I can tell you some things soon, but for now we need to focus. Her life support was failing."
"Let's just go." I'm about to ask the question that is bugging me.
"Great thank you!" He runs up to me and kisses my forehead.
"Jamie,"
"Yes ma'am?"
"Can you tell me about the child now?" His face changes from happy to somber.
"I can. Do you really want to know?"
"I do," his tone scares me.
"That little girl in there..." He pauses awhile, "is your daughter."
