We arrive in her holding facility. Everything is rubber so she doesn't hurt herself. She's only a child. I understand the rubber. I still don't understand how they think it's right to take her away and treat her like an animal.
"We need to get to sector two," Jamie whispers.
"Why sector two?"
"That's where your sister is. " Duh. Why else would we go there?
"Where are we now?"
"Sector ten. We came in the south entrance. " Great. Eight sectors to attempt not being seen in. "you ready?" I can't speak. I nod a yes. "Good." We rush to the stairs. Sadly, in order to keep this building a mystery, the higher the number, the further underground you go. When we get to sector eight, a door creaks. I make a shushing motion over my mouth. He motions toward a door labeled storage. We go to it as quickly and quietly as possible, matching our steps with the guard. When we finally reach the door, it creaks just loud enough for him to hear.
"Oi!" He yells. We run inside and shut ourselves in lockers. "Oi you!" He opens the door. "Get out! I thought I told you to stay on your floor! Go on, I don't want to lose my job and you certainly don't want to go back to sector five, do you? Go on." A little boy scurries past. He looks a tad like Jamie. Once I'm sure the guard is gone, I get out and go towards him. He's standing uneasily in a corner.
"What is it? We have to go. "
"They told me he was dead." He says flatly, but with a tinge of anger in his voice. This plan was just changed drastically.
