chapter 15: Termites!

Carl, Rick, Michonne, and me have been on the road for awhile now. We saw a train bunker (I think that's the name) with a sign on it "sanctuary for all community for all terminus?" I read out loud. I looked at Rick and he took off his bandage from his hand "let's go" he said and we left.
Time skip-

Rick was showing us how to set up a rabbit trap (I know it works on a lot of small animals but this is what I call it). I was looking around pretending to listen to Rick because I already learned how to do this. I also learned how to set up a deer and bear trap. There was a scream and me and Carl ran in that direction. Rick and Michonne caught up to us and put us behind a tree "Get back! Back! Help! Get away! Get back! Help! Somebody help! Help me! Get away! No! Get away! Help! Somebody help!" The man kept screaming I struggled against Michonne "We can't help him." Rick told us "No! No! No! No!" The man screamed while walkers piled on him "We've got to go." Rick said. I felt some tears running on my cheeks but I ran with the group. We ran into some walkers on the railroad and killed them. "Let's go." Rick said "Thought maybe there'd be some houses down this way. Maybe even a store. There's got to be some food around here somewhere." Michonne said "Hey, look." Carl said and we saw a car with a walker in the street "do you think we can stay for the night?" I asked "I don't see why not" Michonne said we got settled and then I heard Carl call me over "hey (y/n) come here!" He said getting in the back of the car. I walked over and hopped in the back he closed the doors behind me "Carl? What are you doing?" I asked "here" he said giving me a little teddy bear with a note on it. I took the note and read it 'you are the sugar in all things sweet, you are the one no one else can beat.  you are the flower I wish to grow, and no matter what I won't let you go.' I teared up reading it and gave him a hug "I remembered how you said a few months ago that your birthday was right around fall (I don't care if it's not true for you it's not true for me ether, my b-day is in December) so I got you this. I know it's small but..." I cut him off "it will be easy to carry." I said he looked at me and nodded. We hugged for a while until Rick told us to come have some dinner. After that me and Carl laid down in the car I sat in the drivers seat while he was in the passengers seat. There was a thud on the glass and me Carl jolted up. We saw a man with a knife and he had a craving smile, but that's not all, the only one he looked at was Carl. "Joe! Hold up." I heard a familiar voice. I looked out the window and saw Daryl. I tapped on the glass to get his attention, when he saw me he had a face of mixed expressions and turned back to the group there was a conversation but I couldn't hear much because of the car windows and everything running through my mind when I finally snapped out of it I heard, who I guess was the group leader, say "It's a lie!" Then all of a sudden some guys were beating up Daryl " No!" I shouted and pounded on the glass. I heard something behind me and the man from earlier had Carl, he fought but lost "no! Let him go!" I felt something grab my arm and pulled me out of the car. I was thrown on the ground and a man kicked me in the stomach. I groaned in pain. "Teach him, fellas. Teach him all the way." I heard the leader again "Listen, it was me. It was just me." Rick said that was all I heard except for the throwing of punches and kicking. I heard a gun shot and got scared "I got him. Oh, it's gonna be so much worse now." The leader said "Get away from him before I-" Rick was cut off "Huh? Right over here. What the hell are you gonna do now, sport?" The leader said and from my angle I saw Rick bite into the man's neck. Everyone looked shocked and Michonne took the advantage to grab the gun from the man that was next to her, she shot him and the guys that were beating me and Daryl. Daryl came up to me "are you okay (y/n)?" I clutched my stomach but nodded he helped me up "I'll kill him. I'll-I'll kill him!" I heard someone say 'Carl! How could I forget?!' I thought feeling stupid "Let the boy go." Michonne said "He's mine." Rick said "Stay back." All I heard after that was stabbing and stabbing and stabbing.
In the morning-

Me and Carl were lying on Michonne's lap he grabbed my hand and I relaxed a bit more. We got back on the road, Daryl wrapped his arm around me and held me close "you okay? You look down." He said "dad." I said "what?" He asked "you've treated me just like I'm your daughter so I thought why don't I call you dad." He hugged me. We walked more and saw a board with terminus on it "We're getting close. Be there before sundown." Daryl said "Now we head through the woods. We don't know who they are." Rick told us "All right." We came up to terminus "We all spread out, watch for a while, see what we see, and get ready. We all stay close." Rick said. Me and Daryl left. "Hey you know what I found leaving the prison?" He asked "what?" He pulled out something from his bag and handed it to me it was my crossbow "thank you so much I thought I would never see it again." I said.  When we got back Rick was putting some weapons in a duffle bag "Just in case." He said we nodded and jumped the fence. We got in undetected "Terminus-those who arrive survive. Follow the tracks to the point where all lines intersect. There are maps at the crossings to help guide you with your journey.Sanctuary for all.Community for all. Those who arrive survive. Terminus, sanctuary for all. Community for all." A lady said "Hello." Rick said "Those who s-" "Hello." Rick said when the attention turned to us "Well, I bet Albert is on perimeter watch. You here to rob us?" Asked a man "No. We wanted to see you before you saw us." Rick told them "Makes sense. Usually we do this where the tracks meet. Ahem. Welcome to Terminus. I'm Gareth. Looks like you've been on the road for a good bit." Gareth said "We have. Rick. That's Carl, Daryl, (y/n), and Michonne." Rick told him "You're nervous. I get it. We were all the same way. We came here for sanctuary. That what you're here for?" "Yes." "Good. You found it. Hey, Alex. This isn't as pretty as the front. We got nothing to hide, but welcome wagon is a whole lot nicer. Alex will take you, ask you a few questions. Uh, but first, we need to see everyone's weapons. If you could just lay them down in front of you." Gareth said. I looked up at Daryl but its not like I didn't see this coming.  "All right." Rick said so I laid down my crossbow and my hunting knife "I'm sure you understand." Gareth said "Yes, I do." Rick said "I'd hate to see the other guy." I guess Alex said (Alex is the name of my cousin LOL) checking Daryl and motions to Rick "You would." Rick joked "They deserve it?" Alex asked Carl "Yes." He answered "Just so you know, we aren't those kind of people, but we aren't stupid either. And you shouldn't be stupid enough to try anything stupid. As long as everyone's clear on that, we shouldn't have any problems. Just solutions. Okay." Alex gave Michonne her katana and came up to me and Daryl he tried to grab our crossbows but we were fast "father and daughter?" He asked "nosey much?" I asked back he backed away and gave Rick and Carl their guns "Follow me." He said and we went outside "So how long's this place been here?" Daryl asked "Since almost the start. When all the camps got overrun, people started finding this place. I think it was instinct, you know? Follow a path. Some folks wereheading to the coast,others out west or up north, but they all wound up here." Alex answered "Hi. Heard you came in the back door. Smart. You'll fit right in here." Said a lady "Hey, Mary, would you fix each of these new folks a plate for me?" Alex asked just then I saw some familiar riot gear 'is that Glen's' I thought "Why do you do it? Why do you let people in?" Michonne asked "The more people become a part of us, we get stronger. That's why we put up the signs,invite people in. It's how we survive. Here." He said giving us food "No." "Where the hell did you get this watch?" Rick asked "Where the hell did you get this watch?" He asked again "You want answers? You want anything else? You get 'em when you put down the gun." Alex said "I see your man on the roof with a sniper rifle. How good's his aim? Where'd you get the watch? Where'd you get the watch?!" "Don't do anything! I have this! You just put it down. You put it down! You want to listen to me. There's a lot of us." "Where did you get the watch?" "I got it off of a dead one. I didn't think he'd need it." "What about the riot gear? The poncho?" "Got the riot gear off a dead cop. Found the poncho on a clothesline." Gareth came up behind us "Gareth, we can wait." "Shut up, Alex." "You talk to me." Rick said "What's there left to say? You don't trust us anymore." "Gareth." "Shut up." "Gareth, please." It's okay. It's okay. Rick, what do you want?" "Where are our people?" "You didn't answer the question." Then there was gunfire everywhere "Carl! Get down, now! Go!" Rick said we ran "Help! Help!" Said some voices "Let us out! Help! Help!" We ran into a room full of lit candles "What the hell is this place?" I asked "These people, I don't think they're trying to kill us." Michonne said "No, they were aiming at our feet. There." There was an opened door but it was soon closed "There. Go!" We got out but we were soon cornered "Drop your weapons! Now! Now! Ringleader, go to your left. The train car, go. You do what we say, and the kids go with you. Anything else, they die and you end up in there anyway. Now the archer. Now the samurai. Stand at the door, ringleader, archer, samurai, in that order." Gareth ordered "Our kids." Rick replied "Go, kids. Ringleader, open the door and go in." "I'll go in with him. Don't make us kill them now." Rick went in and once all of us entered they closed the door "Rick?" I heard a familiar voice say Glen and the rest of the group came out of the dark and into the light, it kinda reminded me of moon light "You're here. You're here." Rick said and looked at the people behind them. I recognized a girl from the governor's attack and glared at her "They're our friends. They helped save us." Maggie said when she noticed me and Rick glaring "Yeah. Now they're friends of ours." Daryl said "For however long that'll be." Said a man with red hair, he looked like a soldier "No. They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out." Rick said "Find out what?" The man asked and everyone looked at Rick "They're screwing with the wrong people."
