Journal,
As you know, I was meant to be in Wuhan for two months to work with the marketing team. I arrived in mid November and I was not supposed to leave until the beginning of February, but circumstances have quickly changed. There has been an outbreak of a deadly case of the flu and it appears to be wiping out hundreds of people. My boss contacted me a couple of days ago and told me to return to Japan to avoid contracting the virus, but I fear that I may already have it. I am experiencing extreme fatigue, headaches and a burning throat. The government have been saying that these are the starting symptoms.
I have been wearing a mask and washing my hands regularly to ensure that I do not spread the virus to anyone else. My symptoms are not yet severe and I do not know if they will ever reach that point. I have a slight feeling that we will be tested for the virus after we get off the plane. If I am positive I may have to be quarantined for up to 2 weeks. I already miss my family back at home and this will only make things worse.
We arrive in Japan in one hour. I hope that everything will be okay.
Sincerely,
Daiki
