Chapter 8

Jin's POV
"What happened?" Kai asked, looking round at all of us. I could see the four youngest boys exchanging nervous glances, silently discussing who was the one going to break the news to the poor boy. "Kai, do you remember anything?" I asked gently, sitting at the side of his bed.

He shook his head, looking curiously at me, "I only remember myself screaming when I saw the dragons. Did I ... did I do something after that?" "I think we have to make sure all five of you know something first... Each person can only have one power...Any more than that, the human will not be able to take it, and will eventually have an early death." Namjoon said quietly. I watched as the four dongsaengs widened their eyes and surrounded the youngest boy, as if protecting him from some evil spirits. "Uhm, okay... so?" Kai asked, not understanding the point.

"Kai, you have more than one power... at least three from what you demonstrated earlier in the hall." Jungkook said, looking down at his feet, unable to meet Kai's doe eyes. "W-What?" was the only thing Kai managed to squeak out before fainting again.

"Prof Minhyuk! Kai fainted again!" Jimin ran to call for the professor, who majored in healing. Meanwhile, I signaled to Namjoon and dragged the four boys aside. With my powers, I could tell that all four of them had a mixture of feelings, sadness, fear and anger all mixed together. "Listen, it'll happen one day. But until that day comes, all 11 of us will protect Kai with our lives." I said, carefully choosing the correct words to use in order to not aggravate the situation.

Yeonjun nodded, unable to utter a single word, before pulling the other boys back to Kai's bedside. I exchanged a look with Namjoon.

How long do you think the boy will live for?
I'm not sure, but if he keeps fainting like that, I don't think he can survive for very long.
Why does he have so many powers? Isn't this supposed to happen like once in a few centuries?
I'm not sure about that either, but we have to find out more about him and protect him at all costs. He's special after all.

We headed back to the group huddled around his bedside. Kai was already awake, although he still looked slightly paler than usual. He definitely wasn't taking the news very well. He couldn't be blamed though, I'm sure I would freak out if I found out that I can't live for very long either. Finally, I decided that we should leave the five boys alone so that they can have some privacy. Gesturing to BTS, I waved goodbye to the boys and walked out of the hospital wing with my friends.

Jungkook: I'm worried for Kai...
Jimin: Wow, is this the first time you are worried about something?
Jungkook playfully punched Jimin and sighed, shaking his head.
Me: Don't worry, he'll be safe with us.

Beomgyu's POV
After BTS exited the hospital wing, the four of us cuddled Kai, refusing to let go until Prof. Minhyuk said that visiting hours were now over and that Kai could be discharged tomorrow. Reluctantly, we waved goodbye to Kai and walked back to the dormitory.

I could feel that something was wrong but I shook it off. Perhaps I was just too tired and had already started imagining things? I hurried to catch up with my friends who were already at the doorstep, unlocking the door.

After we entered the living room, I immediately crashed into the couch and lay there, too tired to move. Yeonjun hyung sighed and carried me to my room, placing me gently on the bed before pulling the covers over me. Quietly, he slipped out of the room before I fell into a deep slumber.

Soobin's POV
I watched Yeonjun as he walked down the stairs, a frown etched on his face. "Hyung, what's wrong?" I asked, looking concerned. "I- I don't know. I think there's something wrong with Gyu..." Yeonjun said unsurely as he sat on the couch beside me and Taehyun. "Oh, so I'm not the only one sensing a weird aura around him?" Taehyun looked up at Yeonjun. "Since when does Beomgyu get tired? He's literally an energizer, there has to be something wrong with him." I nodded at Yeonjun's reasoning.

"Well, there's nothing we can do, so let's just get some sleep so that we can be ready for our first day of lessons." I shrugged and walked into my room, taking a quick shower and then climbing into bed.

"It's time."

(A/N) shorter chapter today but i'll make up for it soon :) tomorrows my first day of weekly HBL and i already realised that i forgot to bring my math notebook home ;-; i feel so dumb 😖 i'll try to update tmr either during my break or after my HBL (also a big thank you to destiny_dip0830 and namjiinnie for reading this book and voting for it, i don't deserve y'all 😭)
