"Okay... so the photo booth goes in that corner... The food station at the back... It's buffet style so persons would be able to take as they please... The snacks station with the 'WAIT' designed cookies go at the entrance with the balloon arch for guests... The trinkets station goes to the left of the stage so it's easy for the ushers to give out when required."
Her irises were fixated on the sheet of paper between her fingers.
Her insides like jelly, anticipation eating at her.
They were some hours away from her retreat.
Her orbs roamed the room, the blank auditorium she'd stepped into weeks ago, now transformed.
The lilies that decorated the edge of each ceiling. The white and nude balloon arched that decorated the entry way and the white clothed tables that were individually placed each corner in the room.
The wording 'WAIT' in nude Helium balloons at the center of the stage caused Kait's smile to brighten.
She written down the vision and made it plain. Now it was becoming a reality.
"It looks good."
The voice said behind her. She turned to see his hazel orbs examining the room.
The man's presence has her questioning his intentions at times but she couldn't deny the fact that he'd played a major role in helping with the decor.
"Thank you."
She bent forward, placing her right arm in front of her waist.
A chuckle escaped his lips as he shook his head.
"Nervous?"
His voice was chilled and relaxed as she nodded in response to his question.
"Might just be jitters but I'm excited yet scared about how this is going to turn out..."
She allowed her thoughts to free itself.
"Don't be... you've put in a lot of hard work... trust me I know... I helped."
Her palm found his shoulder as she playfully shoved him.
"Just remember why you're doing this... and that should give you the courage you need."
The sides of her lips rose as she glanced in the direction of the man.
His words providing a sense of comfort to her. Her heart swelling as she watched her family and friends add the finishing touches to the room.
Her eyes closed and for a moment, she allowed herself fo just breathe in all that was taking place around her.
She knew as the event began, rest would be the last thing on her mind.
The creaking of the doubled doors caused her lids to open as a squeal left her lips.
The woman ran towards Kait, her arms wrapping around her neck as Kait felt her eyes well with tears.
"What are you doing here?"
Shock surged through her.
"Did you really think that I'd miss your big event?... this is your time to shine and I'm not missing a second of seeing my best friend walk in her purpose."
The tears fell as Kait wrapped her arms around the woman, the tears like a flood escaping her eyes.
They weren't a depiction of sadness but of joy. The love and support Kait had received since she'd decided to take on this task overwhelmed her.
The faith her family and friends poured into her, left the woman feeling full.
Tenille's fingers wiped Kait's tears away.
