NATURAL SELECTION.
Pointless. It's pointless trying to recall what happened on the way here, because it's gone forever. Gone, completely and utterly gone. I haven't seen Fred, nor Tulip, nor Lorraine. I didn't even get to see Phanuel, since they woke me up first. A hovercraft ride later and I had a tracking device implanted in my arm, which was quite painful. We spent the next hours in an underground room which will become a tourist attraction in less than a year, where people who are sick in the head will choose to stay at for their sake of their own vacation. Maybe all of the Capitol citizens are sick in the head, except for Steffan and maybe even Lorraine...
My stay there happened very fast. It consisted of a meal which I had to make myself eat even though I wasn't hungry at all. My stomach seems to have shrunk overnight. And after a few last words and good lucks from Steffan, my stylist, I was already standing in my metal plaque slowly elevating while Steffan's face disappeared with a slight smile on his face.
The outfit for this year is confusing. We have leggings that apparently are made to keep the skin warm and a thermic long sleeve shirt goes along with it. Another thermic, two layered jacket falls five fingers above the knees. Steffan told me we had to expect a cold climate, and that this outfit would do its best to keep us warm.
That wasn't even 10 seconds ago, and it already seems as if it happened during a past life. It seems like that life wasn't even mine, but it is mine. It was mine, until it got taken away by the capitol, and here I am.
Sixty seconds.
Sixty seconds. A minute before this starts and I already know my mission. It looks placed on purpose, but I have a bow right in front of my metal ring. It's so easy to get i could literally just sprint there as fast as I can and have time to climb the cornucopia before most tributes get to reach it, if they aren't fast enough.
I look around me and find Aquor in the metal ring next to me. He raises an eyebrow and I nod at his direction, making sure he knows for a fact that I will carry on with the plan we have.
Thirty seconds.
I can't even see the whole arena, but it seems like it is the most diverse arena I have ever seen in my life. I think it is divided in 6 sections, but i can't even look, the sun is too bright for me, but I can notice a snowy mountain ahead of me which irradiates the sunlight straight into my eyes blinding me. I quickly turn away but another thing blinds me. Tall, bright buildings inside of the arena.
Buildings? I think to myself. It's almost impossible, to the point where it HAS to be a joke, or some kind of trick.
Fifteen seconds.
I decide to look around to see what I can find later. I know there is a forest behind me, and next to the first I can see a swamp. Four sections, I need to know about the other 2. I concentrate on the bow in front of me, I can't loose sight.
