DRIFT AWAY.

The adrenaline rush starts again as my legs make me want to stand up again, but a voice stops me before I can do so.

"Don't be dumb. If one of them died there's nothing you can do to help them. The other two will find their way here." Sean says exhausted as if dealing with me was the most difficult thing in the world.

"What should I do then, just sit here and pray for them to come back?" I reply harshly.

I can almost see Fred running his hands through his hairs telling me to stay where you are, don't move. I can guarantee he's going to have some very sleepless nights this week.

Sean runs his hands through his short hair just like I pictured Fred. "No, lets just catch our breaths and go back once the it's safe."

And as angry as it makes me, he is right. There's nothing clever we can do other than wait for the buildings to stop falling in the empty cornucopia. I lay down again, hoping that if I leave my eyes open long enough a hovercraft will come and take me out of this arena.

I had already realised what 4 out of the six sections are; forest, jungle, fake city now turned to ruins, and snowy mountains. The fifth section looks like a desert, and the sixth one looks like a valley. The valley looks too good to be true, and I would never in my life walk over there, not even to drink from the tempting stream of fresh water which is probably toxic. Fresh water...

My throat is burning. I decide to take two quick sips from one of the three bottles I am carrying. Something tells me water isn't going to be so easy to find.

Screams can be heard coming from the forest section, but this time I don't even flinch. The forest is their problem now. There is no point in trying to guess who they are, I don't even care at this point.

A very tired looking Aquor and a dust covered Vaiana can be seen running out of the now collapsed city, and I get up in less than a second before I see Phanuel behind them.

"Goddamn Phanuel don't do that again." I say getting close to him. He just scoffs.

Vaiana sits resting her back in the cornucopia while Aquor lays down just like I did. "If it weren't for me he would still be laying in the ruins." He says playfully, and I know that if Aquor had been in a good state of mind he would have hit him straight in the face.

༄༄༄

The rest of the first day was quite boring if I'm allowed to say it. After a traumatic morning, we did nothing else other than wander around the cornucopia for the rest of the day. What else would we do? Spectators had an interesting bloodbath, a whole section with their favourite tributes collapsing, two different deaths which we don't know about and problems in another section. I think it's safe to say it's going to be a peaceful night.

Because this is what it's all about. About making the games ourselves. Keep them entertained, keep the dangers away. Maybe we could even pretend we are actors and fake-fight  each other when things get too peaceful. It's a fake punch fight between Aquor and Phanuel or go poison someone in the valley water. I don't know which one I prefer.

But we are the ones leading right now. Only three careers from their pack remain, and two of them are injured. We would be five against three, with Candice being the only fighter. It would be pointless for them to come our way. As far as I'm concerned, the next alliance which is Oliver's consists of just three people. I don't think people would be trying to chase us.

The cornucopia is the safest place for us to stay.

Steffan was right, the night was cold. Not cold enough for you to freeze to death, but cold enough to not have a good time. We decide to make a fire with my matches to keep warm and eat dehydrated meat before going to sleep and calling it a day.
