For a brief moment, Neji's lips brush against [Name's]. It's heavenly. It's everything he wished for and more. Though it was only for a second. Half a second.

And then he falls on her. Arms sluggishly wrap around her body, his head pushed into her shoulder. Someone did spike the drink. Alcohol and fruit punch mixed together, swirling in his stomach, and everyone, including Neji, is none the wiser.

He feels hot, and he barely hears [Name] call his name.

"Neji? Neji!" [Name] calls to him, pushing him up to see his face. It's completely red. "Oh, god, Neji?!"

[Name] lies Neji down on the ground. He groans, shifting as the heat rolls through him. He hates alcohol and doesn't have much of a tolerance to it. [Name] cups all the water she can get in her hands from the pool and splashes it on his face. The water cools him down, but for only a moment.

"Oh, Neji," [Name] mutters. "You're still alive, right?"

[Name] brings her hand close to his nose and feels his breath on her skin. With a sigh of relief, she rubs his chest, trying to console the sick boy.

"Maybe we should go home?" [Name] mutters to herself. But how could she possibly do that? She can't drive! She doesn't even know where Neji lives!

Her hand glides up to his throat, to his chin, then stopping right below his bottom lip. Her slow brain finally registers what happened.

Did Neji just kiss me?

That short moment from before flashes in her mind. Neji's lips brushing against hers, slow, sweet. Did she like it? Should she ask him about it?

[Name's] head is fuzzy, and the best she can do right now is lay next to Neji, waiting for Gaara to come.

...

Gaara dials [Name's] number for the fifteenth time. He wants to tell her that he's outside, waiting for her. He doesn't want to enter the party cause he knows how it'll be in there. But [Name] leaves him no choice. She's not answering the phone.

In one swift movement, he turns off his car and exits his vehicle. From across the street, he can hear the blaring music, the bright lights. He even sees a couple of teens making out on the front lawn. He's surprised none of the neighbors have called the cops for disruption.

He crosses the street, one hand in his pocket, the other hand is texting [Name]. He walks through the front door, pushing his way through crowds. His eyes scan every face, looking for his girlfriend. He squeezes between a couple on the stairs, jogging up them, and continuing his search.

The only thing Gaara wants to avoid is his fangirls. However, that's precisely who he sees the moment he reaches the hallway.

"Gaara!" Sari cheers. She runs up to him and holds his arm.

"You made it!" Matsuri says, holding his other. "We're so glad---"

Before she can finish, Gaara shakes them off and says, "Where's [Name]?"

Sari groans. "You want to know where she is? Why?"

"She's my girlfriend! Why else!" Gaara barks. "Now, where is she?"

Matsuri blows a raspberry. "Who knows. She ran off, after admitting she's losing feelings for you."

This catches Gaara's attention. "Excuse me?"

Sari smirks but covers it quickly. "Well, yeah. We asked her if she loved you. She didn't answer at first, but she shrugged and admitted that loving you is hard."

Matsuri jumps in next. "Yeah, but we'd never stop loving you, Gaara."

Gaara sneers. The initial shock wore off. "Bullshit."

He descends the stairs again, figuring the two wouldn't be any help. He searches every room until he estimates [Name] would be outside.

And there he finds her. Cuddled next to Neji. By the pool.

...

Neji is so warm, that his body heat radiates off of him, warming [Name] up too. She clutches to his arm, wondering his he's sleep, partially unconscious, or if he just has his eyes closed. She peers at his pink face and his parted lips.

Did he really kiss me? The question still lingers in her mind.

"[Name]! [Name]!" She hears the sound of Gaara's voice, and all her thoughts are interrupted. "I've called you a thousand times what the fuck?!"

[Name] pops up from her spot, and whips towards the direction of Gaara's voice. Gaara storms towards her, looking exasperated, tired, and angry. She pats herself down, searching for her phone. It's gone.

By now, Gaara is standing over her, arms crossed, waiting for an explanation.

"I---I think I dropped it somewhere. It's not on me," [Name] confesses. "It might be in Neji's car somewhere."

Gaara glares, grabbing [Name] by the arm and pulling her up. He embraces her. "I thought something might've happened to you. I was scared."

[Name] hugs him back. But once again, she thinks about Neji. His warmth, his lips---

"I need to get Neji home! I think he's drunk," [Name] declares. Gaara glances momentarily at Neji's body.

"No."

"What? No! I---We need to get him home."

"I don't even know where he lives. So, no."

[Name] pushes him away. She's hasn't been angry with Gaara for the entirety of this relationship, but now, the way that he's treating Neji is making her upset.

"Then, take him to my place!" [Name] argues. "Why are you doing this to him?"

"It's not my fault he got drunk!"

[Name] huffs, and plops down next to Neji. "I'm not leaving without him."

Gaara looks back at the house, then back at [Name]. He wants out. He needs to get out of here and get home. "[Name], I'm only doing this because you're my girlfriend."

He leans down and hoists Neji up. Neji is lucid enough to stand on his feet but still drags along as Gaara carries him back to the house. It's a struggle to press between others, with his little girlfriend tiptoeing along. It's even worse, pushing Neji into his car.

"I don't like the thought of him being in your house," Gaara admits, entering the car after [Name] checks on Neji. "Maybe I should stay too."

"No. I don't have any room. Neji will stay on my couch, I'll be in a separate room, so what's the problem?" [Name] says, her head feeling heavy. She clutches the side of her head and closes her eyes.

"Well, I can just stay in your bed---"

"No! You can go home," [Name] says. "Do you not trust me?"

"I don't trust him!"

"He has a girlfriend!"

[Name] scowls. It's no secret that [Name] drank some of the spiked punch too, so her brain is heavy, and something's pounding against her skull. She's a little irritated, and Gaara isn't making it any better.

"[Name], please," Gaara begs, but before he speaks any more words, [Name] cut him off.

"Just take me home, Gaara. I'm tired."
