"Twisting and i'm turning

Oh i'm crashing and i'm burning

So reach out your hand to me
Come down

Rescue my heart i'll drown
Without you

Come down
And rescue my heart i'm deep underground
I can't dig my way out

So come down
Rescue my heart"

Nashville, Tennessee, United States of America.

2019.

"Come on Alyssia! If we don't leave in five we'll miss our flight!" Alyssia rolled her eyes, her best friend Kate dramatics.

"Alyssia! Alyssia-" Kate's quick footsteps echoed throughout the empty house as she ran towards Alyssia's room.

"Hurry up will you. University won't wait for you!" Kate scolded her.

"You've always been dramatic Kate that's why we're best friends, coz we're polar opposites. But even I know our flight doesn't leave until 8 pm and right it's 13:50 meaning that we have more than 5 hours left. And why on earth anyone would want to spend that much time at the airport I have no idea." Alyssia told her.

"Umm... try this, duty-free" Kate replied back.

"Oh yeah, thank god for duty-free!" Alyssia hummed underneath her breath. Managing to stuff her last jumper into her carry-on sports bag, sighing in relief she sat down on her bed and racked her eyes over her room.

As she did her gut provided her with a very strong and strange feeling that she will never see it again..... and that a new journey for her was about to start. She secretly hoped it was better than the one she had recently experienced.

But then again... nothing is worse than the feeling of losing the only family you have left in this world.

"I'm gonna make you proud mum. I promise. " Clutching the necklace sitting on her neck she whispered a promise she would fulfill.

"OK, Kate I am finally done here but I need some help to get the bags downstairs for the taxi man to carry!" She was ready..... after the incident Alyssia's goodbyes became shorter. But that's because the one goodbye she was convinced she'd never have to say already happen, and frankly, she was sick of them by now.
