"Fire on fire would normally kill us

With this much desire, together, we're winners

They say that we're out of control and some say we're sinners

But don't let them ruin our beautiful rhythms
'Cause when you unfold me and tell me you love me

And look in my eyes
You are perfection, my only direction

It's fire on fire,
It's fire on fire"

Sam Smith - Fire On Fire

The road to Middleham Castle, 1461

So far since the departure from Grafton house the journey to Middleham castle where the court was to be held was quiet to say the least.

That is not to say that the silent yet playful glances the pair would steal from each other; would make any stranger think that they were a young couple very much in love.

As confident as Edward was in most situation, this had left him baffled. He wanted to talk to her, ask her about herself so much, that he could fathom where he would begin.

Also he had been the very person to inform that the father was now dead and he did not know if she hated him or longed for his company as much as he longed for hers in this very moment.

Deciding to listen to his desire to know her he started to talk. "So my lady, might I be so bold as to ask how old you are?" He glances at her seeing a slight smile appear; caused him to smile twice as largely.

"Surely a gentlemen does not ask a lady's age? Especially a king." She replied teasing him.

"And yet I would know it all the same. Just as I would know if you carry negative feelings towards me and my reign. Do you my lady see me as the reason for your fathers death?" He asked with a heavy heart. The young king wanted so badly for her to say no. That she felt nothing but love towards him.

"Permission to speak plainly your majesty." Alyssia asked.

"Granted" Edward replied without skipping a beat.

"I do not think that I could ever hate your grace. The old king Henry was mad and the queen was full of hate which she managed to spread all over this beautiful country poisoning everything and everyone that would stand in its way." Since she was 14 she began to read and study the war of the roses.
