As the scene unfolded Richards body went rigid as an aftermath of Alyssia's words. Noticing everyone's eyes on him he subconsciously moved his hand over the top of his sword which sat on his lower waist.

As for Alyssia she didn't dare move back or hold back her words. In her eyes Richard was the greatest traitor of them all.

At least Warwick used to voice his traitorous ways aloud.

Along with the crowd sir John froze in shock. Nor he or anyone else standing here today could believe that a son of York would go against his own house.

And the son of Edward himself.

But unlike everyone else sir John copied Richards movements as he gripped the tip of his sword also.

"Come Richard, son of York. The people now all know you for the two faced snake that you are. There is no need to deny nor hide your intentions." Alyssia broke the silence and gasps within the crowd.

Overwhelmed and backed into a corner with no way out. Within a blink of an eye Richard unsheathed his sword and grabbed Alyssia pulling her into his body. As he placed his long sword upon her throat the crowd gasped as the guards too readied their weapons.

"Stay back ! If you want your mother to live Edmund I suggest you exercise the power you have now and tell your guards to stand down! " Richard looked at the prince who too had his sword in his hand ready to defend his mother.

"Edmund don't-"

"Be quiet. Or so help me I will kill you where you stand." Richard seethed into Alyssia ear she felt the sword tighten around her throat.
