3rd Person P.O.V.
"Hey, Y/N!" Alex smiled as he ran up to her, slightly out of breath. 'What is he running from?' She asked herself, as she greeted him back. "Get back here, you punk!" Someone angrily shouted. "I'll catch you in a bit at the mall?" Alex looked up before looking behind him. "Yeah, of course! Anyone else coming?" "Yup, just one person! Bye!" Alex started running off again, one of his bullies barely passing by Y/N. She just smiled, and shook her head in disappointment. "Hopefully he's not gonna make me wait."
-Time Skip-
Y/N's P.O.V.
I waited on one of the benches in the food court, hoping that I didn't look like too much a dimwit. "Hey! There you are!" Alex smiled as he walked over to me. "There you are, I was wondering if you were gonna leave me here." I hadn't noticed the girl behind him. "Hey, Y/N, this is my girlfriend, Ira. Ira, this is my friend Y/N!" Alex introduced us. Ira looked like the typical nice girl. By that, I meant she looked extremely friendly. "Hey, Lexi, do you think me and your friend here could go around the mall for a bit? I want to get to know her." "Of course! I'll be at Spencer's." Ira led me away from the bench, and to the ice cream store. "What do you want?" She asked as she took her card out from her purse. "Oh, no, you don't have to get me anything," I tried declining. "No no, choose something, I promise!" I sighed, and ordered my ice cream and waited for Ira to finish paying for our ice cream. It was really awkward having to hang out with Alex's girlfriend. As she led me to a table to eat, I noticed that she was waiting for me to sit down.
"You're Y/N, right?" I nodded as I took a bite of my ice cream. "So, what are your opinions on Alexis?" She asked curiously. I thought for a minute, before responding truthfully. "If you really want to know, he's a great guy. He can be clumsy at times, but he's funny and has a talent for editing. He's pretty nice, but he can get too 'pissed off' when around his guy friends. I use pissed off with big quotation marks, because it's more of a joking manner." Ira looked rather intrigued. "Really? He's clumsy? I didn't expect that from my Lexi, considering he's so quiet and usually behaved around me. I don't know why, I thought now that we were dating, he'd open up to me." I raised my eyebrows in suspicion and confusion. "Wait, you two knew each other before this.. relationship?" Ira's eyes widened. "Oh, um, yeah! We've been best friends since we were little kids."
'Oh hell no, you were not friends with him for over 15 years. That would be me. Also, why would you asked me for info on him if you've known him for around the same time I did?' I thought mentally, but I tried ignoring my thoughts. "Cool." I turned as blunt as I could be. "Um, alright. It's, uh, it's getting late for me, so I have to ask Alex to take me home. It was nice meeting you." "Likewise."
I sobbed as I knelt down in front of Alex's grave. "No... no, why did it have to be you?" I croaked out as I clenched the bouquet of flowers in my hand. It was long after the funeral. That day I met Alex's girlfriend was the day I became aware of my love for him. For whatever reason, a few months later he decides to go buy his girlfriend something, I don't know what he got. Then he got struck by that drunk driver. It hurt. It hurt to lose the love of my life, my only best friend. My heart was aching. I couldn't believe it. No, I refused to believe it. 'Alex is probably just waiting at my house, and he'd be there to tell me it was all a prank. Yeah, that's gotta be it.' I kept trying to lie to myself, but it didn't work.
I just kept kneeling and crying, before my body dropped onto the grass. I felt so weak, so useless, without having my only friend beside me. However, my mind was making a decision I wasn't aware of. After another hour of laying down and being miserable, I sat up and wiped my tears away. 'What's the point of feeling this way?' I thought to myself. "What's the use of feeling blue?" I asked, knowing that Alex didn't want me to mourn over him for so long. I sighed, and noticed the sky changing from dark blue to a hazy orange, signalling that a new day was starting. Petals from a tree were falling, and one landed on top of Alex's gravestone. I smiled. "You may be gone, my dear friend, but I will never forget you. Te amo."
