Keys: Y/N - Your Name
N/N - Nickname
Word Count: 699 WordsA/N: I know that officially, the 12 days of Christmas start on Christmas, but my idea for the original plot was to for Alex to do something special for Y/N on Christmas, and it'd only fit in if I started this series today. Sorry if this offends anyone for the wrong reasons. I genuinely don't mean to offend you.
3rd Person P.O.V.
12 Days remaining
Y/N woke up bright and early, to go to work. She looked over at her sleeping boyfriend, who had a little drool coming down his chin. Chuckling, she got out of bed, and started getting dressed, before starting to make breakfast. It was simple, eggs with bacon and waffles. Soon enough, Y/N decided to take just a waffle and a piece of bacon, before leaving.
Christmas was around the corner, and Y/N was pondering what to get for Alexis. They'd been together for almost four years, and she wanted to get something for him that he'd enjoy and cherish. As she took in the scenery of the city, she remembered what Alex had told her two years ago. "Where would I want to live? In the city, I think it's really beautiful." Two years ago. Has it really been that long since they both moved in together? "Walking around the Christmas tree..." The Christmas music has started the day after Thanksgiving, which was way too early. She entered her job, as an sales manager. It was incredibly stressful, as her team wouldn't be able to sell the products before they all went on Christmas break.
Alex's P.O.V.
I woke up, and saw Y/N gone. I missed her. She always got up early to go to work, and left late. We could never really go on dates after I moved in with her. Yawning, I got out of bed, and walked into the kitchen to eat. Looking down at the table, I saw a plate already made for me. I smiled. 'Y/N's so cute..' I started eating, before wondering what to do. It was the 13th, and to me, the 12 days started. I wanted to do something special for Y/N, each day leading up to Christmas, and luckily, my fans had generously donated. Let's see... a dog? Maybe. But we live in an apartment... a cat wouldn't work, either. There's a lot of pets that wouldn't work. 'How about a.... goldfish?' "What the fuck?" I asked myself. 'I mean, it's small. It doesn't take a lot of space, and a lot of things.' I frowned, and sighed. I started finishing eating, before getting ready to go out to the pet store. God, this was a dumb idea. I would've been fine with a dog, but a fish? I don't even know if Y/N likes them!
The shop's doorbell rung a tune to some Christmas song I forgot the name of, and welcomed me inside. Not many people were in the store, considering some were going out of the city or out of state. I immediately went to the fish area, and started motioning a worker over. "Excuse me, can I please get a goldfish?" After a few minutes of getting supplies for Jerry, yes I named him Jerry, I went to pay at the self-checkout. It cost around $150 to pay for everything, including the tank, the tank stand, the food, all that stuff. I went home, and started setting up the tank, making it homey.
I didn't even realize that it was starting to turn late, after I finished and started making dinner, when Y/N came through the door, tired. I turned, and saw her. She looked extremely stressed, and I walked over to her, hugging her tightly. "Are you okay, N/N? Was work really that hard?" I asked. Y/N just nodded, before looking over my shoulder. "Why do we have a fish tank..?" She let go, and gasped. "You got a fish?" I nodded, and she smiled brightly at me. "It's so cute! And you made dinner?" I nodded again, while giving her a forehead kiss. "Go eat, I'll get the bed ready so you can sleep early. I'll take care of the paperwork again."
