Star Labs
"Finally!" Barry exclaimed, as he circled the exact perfect date to travel to.

April 2, 2040. A year after his death. No major events or headlines come out of Central City.

Preparing himself before entering the pipeline, Barry attached the tachyon device to his chest before exhaling.

Jitters (Caitlin and Ramsey)

"Thanks for the coffee," Caitlin said as she sat down across from Ramsey. After the reunion event ended, Ramona headed back home to Midway and Caitlin and Ramsey went to Jitters to catch up some more.

"No problem," he replied. "Triple shot latte with a bit of cinnamon."

"You remember," Caitlin smiled.

"Of course, all those nights with the study group cramming for the morning exam. How could I not remember all the coffee we drank."

"Quite ironic for an up and coming group of health professionals, if I have to say so myself," Caitlin laughed.

"Why yes, honestly while it helped us pass, we would crash horribly from that amount of caffeine."

The two old friends shared a laugh and continued to reminisce on the scholarly days.

"Anyways Caitlin, besides catching up I wanted to talk to you about something else."

"And what's that?" She asked drinking her final sip.

"Well, ever since my mother's death I've been experimenting."

(Blah blah blah. Basically the part in 6x1 where Ramsey explains his cure and how he couldn't save mom, but Cait turns him down when he says he uses dark matter)

Star Labs - 2040

Barry walked silently in the hallway as he looked around Star Labs in the future. Not much has changed. Although when he reaches the entrance of the cortex, there are now four suit displays, but one is empty.

As he enters the cortex, he is greeted by a group of people. Two of which have familiar faces, Iris and Cisco.

The three others were new young faces. One stood beside Cisco, he was a similar height but a bit taller than Cisco and shared his dark hair and olive skin. The other two stood near Iris and had similar complexion to her but slightly lighter. The boy had green eyes like him, but his hair was dark like Iris'. The girl looked like a carbon copy of Iris when she was a teenager, although she had minor facial attributes that resembled Barry's.

"Dad! Oh my god!" The boy exclaimed as he went up and hugged Barry as the rest of the group just stared.

Barry stepped back confused as the boy let go.

"Dad?" He questioned.

"Henry, that's not your dad," Iris said walking up to him. "Well he is, but not quite yet."

Iris stepped in front of him and put her hand up to his face cupping it. "I know your not technically my time period Barry, but I'm just so happy to see your face again," she said.

"Wait, he's from the past!" The boy standing near Cisco exclaimed, "last time Henry and I tried time traveling we got grounded!"

"That's because time travel can be dangerous, Dante," Cisco replied. "What year are you from, Barry?"

"2020."

"You're big fight with Caitlin," Iris said looking at Cisco.

"Wait, we never made up?" Barry questioned.

"Yes, well no," Iris replied. "You both agreed to stop arguing but there was no official heart-to-heart."

"There were many years of awkward, passive-aggressive silence," Cisco added. "But why are you here? We agreed to stop with all the time travel."

"I need to know what happened with Caitlin and Melony," Barry said causing the room go still.

2020 - the next day - Jitters

Caitlin looked up from her notes as a cup of coffee was placed in front of her.

"Ramsey, I said I wouldn't give you what you needed for your experiment," she replied.

"I know, I just wanted to apologize for my outburst yesterday. It was childish, and I'm sorry," Ramsey said, as he took a seat across from her. "And also take a different approach."

"I already told you I can't give you any dark matter, it's too-"

"I know Caitlin, and I realized the risks of using such a dangerous substance so I thought that you would like to join my study. Help me find another way to make the cure."

"Help you cure cancer?!"

"It will be like when we were residents together working for my mom. She always admired your brilliant mind, so much that I was a little jealous. But when we started working together you became less like a rival but more like my sister. And I saw how right my mom was about you. With your brilliant mind and attributions, I'm sure we can figure it out. So what do you say, Caitlin? Maybe together we can find a safer way to make the cure."

"Let's do it."

The Night Before

"Hey, let me go!" A meta civilan yelled as he tried to pull on his power dampening retraints. Ramsey knocked him out before he could make anymore noise.

"Log 14, test subject 1," Ramsey spoke into a voice recorder. "After isolating the dark matter substance from the subjects blood, combining it with the cure and injecting it into the blood of a patient the cells seems to completely recover and return to a healthy state. And now for the real test, "Ramsey said as he aligned a needle to his own vein and injected the cure."

Moments after the cure entered his system, he screamed as he felt imense heat over his body as his veins began to pop out of his skin. Then seconds after the pain stopped. Ramsey stood back up looking at his hands, as the dark red, liquidy/congealed, combination of the blood and dark matter moved as he motioned his hands to where it should go.

"What just happened..." he said touched the substance and it absorbed into his hands. He inhaled deeply as the last of it entered his system and clenched him fist. "I need more..." he said.
