Drinking was fun and all until you had to wake up at seven am to be in a warehouse to hear a man talk excitedly about paintings. I honestly wanted to throw a brick at Martin's head and I wasn't even the violent type."And these are priceless." He clapped loudly and Ross fell off the couch from his sleeping state. "Why aren't you guys as excited as me?" He questioned. "I'm trying to tell you that this could be our last hit for a long time.. we'd be set!"
I found my eyes leaving his and trailing to a certain brunette who sat on the couch with a neutral state. She didn't look hungover but she did look tired.. even then, she looked good. For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about just kissing last night. It was like a VHS tape in my mind, rewinding and replaying, over and over.
Never have I had a kiss without being sober that I could vividly remember every little detail of.. it was wild. And all I wanted to do was kiss her again, if I'm being honest.
"You guys aren't even.. go get some food and coffee and come back. Because once I tell you the pay load of this.. you'll listen up really quick." Martin said with a huff as he sat down on the table, his head shaking.
At the mention of food we all hopped up and started to file out but I lagged behind when I saw Cindy approaching Martin. "Yo Cind?" She stopped and looked at me. "Ride with me?"
"Um," She looked at Martin before looking back at me with a nod. "Yeah sure. Let me just grab my coat." I gave her a thumbs up and walked out of the warehouse.
"Hey magic. Wanna drive with me?" Flower asked with a smirk, her eyebrows wiggling.
"Um no." She frowned. "I don't think I feel like puking more than I already have today so.. I'll pass."
"Lame." She mumbled and slid into her car.
I climbed into my mustang, Stef in Ross's GTR, and Carter joined Flower in her BMW. Psycho. "Okay, let's go." I looked over at Cindy who slid into my car with a smile. "Ready?"
I looked her over and my eyebrows furrowed. "Where's the jacket?"
"Oh yeah." She shifted nervously and I caught her hand raising to run through her hair, eyes leaving mine. "I thought against it. Not as cold as I thought it would be."
I hummed silently. I wasn't an idiot.. but I wasn't about to question her. But I mean damn, you'd think a thief would make a good liar, right?
Letting it go, I followed the others down the street as they led the way to wherever we were getting food from. "So last night.. pretty fun huh?" I questioned as I looked over at her.
"Yeah it was cool. Would've been better if I wasn't so tired." I nodded slowly.
"Yeah.." Should I bring it up? There was no harm in it, right? I could just ease it in like a joke. Yeah, a joke. "So, you know, taking away the annoying feeling of the card.. I say your kissing it alright."
Her head slowly turned, eyes filled with confusion. "Wait.. we kissed?" My heart dropped instantly as she brought her hand up to her mouth. "Oh my God, did we reall- I'm kidding, I wasn't drunk."
"Oh," I breathed out, dropping my head for a second as she laughed. "You're an asshole, you know that?" She shrugged softly with a smirk before looking out of the window. So, that was a good sign right? If she was joking around with it, it wasn't bad. It wasn't a drunken slip up. She meant for it to happen. Hopefully.. she wouldn't mind this then.
Once we pulled up to a red light, I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel before reaching my right hand out and tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. When she turned to face me, I slid my hand behind her neck and softly leaned forward to connect our lips. I got the opposite reaction of last night.
