I sat in my car, looking out at the family sized boat in conflict. Do I go.. do I get back into my car and drive thirty minutes back to my place? Why did I come here? Well, it's not like I had anywhere else to go..

Flower didn't want to get back together and no matter how many times I just tipsily called her phone, texted her, I always got the same response. Nothing. Straight to voicemail, I was officially on that short ass blocked list of hers which only consisted of two other people. Her parents. And now.. me.

So, where else was I to go?

I climbed out of my car and started up the dock to the only boat with a single light on, a figure sitting on the edge. When I got to the loading area, she looked up and smiled sorry and that's when I saw that she had changed into something I never thought she'd wear. Leggings and an oversized hoodie.

"And you brought a blanket? I didn't think you were one to follow orders." She said with a genuine smile before standing up and moving over to help me onto the boat.

"Well, I do work for your father so.. there's plenty of orders there." Once we were on, I looked up and saw her just standing there, smiling at me. "What?" I asked with a confused chuckle.

She then shook her head and unwrapped the rope that held the boat to the dock. "Nothing. I hope you aren't seasick." I raised my eyebrows and followed her over to the.. captains wheel. Oh hell no-

She suddenly started the boat and I grabbed the nearest railing when she pushed up on the lever, slowly pulling us out into the water. "How good are you at this? I'd really rather not die by fucking sea."

"Relax." She mumbled and gave me a smirk. "I've been driving this boat since I was six." I sighed and relaxed my shoulders when I saw she was actually driving good. "I brought you here to say.. I'm sorry." My head snapped back to her and she rolled her eyes. "Don't look so shocked."

"I'm sorry, can you repeat that." I said as I playfully pulled out my phone to go to the camera but she pushed my hand down.

"Stop, I'm being serious." Nodding, I leaned back against the wall as she kept her eyes forward. "I know I have a tendency to act out without thinking, it's just all I know, okay?" She looked over at me and I could see sadness in her eyes. "I don't know how to not go for what I want. I wanted you and I nearly got your dick chopped off." She snorted and held up her hand. "Sorry.. still funny."

"Yeah yeah." I looked up when she slowly pulled to a stop, nothing but water now surrounding us, and the moon. As I sat down on the little couch, she followed suit.

"Listen," She cleared her throat and turned to face me. "I'm not going to say I didn't mean for this to happen because well.. I should've saw it coming. I live a life where I don't like to think about the future, that shit scares me. There's no changing for me, I'm always going to be this way.. but I'm sorry for wrecking your relationship."

I nodded softly and watched her give me a small smile before facing forward. "You say there's no changing for you?" She nodded. "How do you know that?"

"Because, I don't want to change." My eyebrows as she shrugged. "I'm not a settling down person, Y/n. I've accepted that and I don't plan on changing anytime soon.. but I will start to go for single people."

I laughed and nodded as she smiled forward. "Yeah, that's a good idea." I looked out at the water, watching the waves sway slightly. "I use to live like that." I started, feeling her eyes move to me again. "Super carefree, relaxed. I feel like I was happier standing on the corner in Vegas doing tricks with my bicycle deck. Now it feels like I just fuck shit up."

"Well, you weren't trying hard when you were doing card tricks, were you?" I quietly shrugged before reaching into my pocket and pulled out the box of cards I always carried. Even though I didn't use them anymore.. I felt calmer when I had them. A little piece of sanity. "The harder we try to be someone we aren't, the more stressful stuff is. That's why I just let go."
