I quickly grabbed a scarf and tied it around my neck, sliding my left arm into it in a homemade sling."Ross, Cindy still has her phone. I saw it in her back pocket when she was leaving." He nodded and already started to pull off his backpack which I assumed carried his computer.
I took in a deep breath, the aching of my shoulder getting stronger but I wasn't going to let a dislocated shoulder let Cindy get away with that animal.
"Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital?" Flower asked and I nodded before grabbing my pistol and sliding it into the concealed pancake holster. "What are you gonna do about Nicole?"
I paused briefly. My mind was so focused on Cindy that I had forgotten she was supposedly coming home early. "Ross do you have a location?" I asked and he shook his head while still typing rapidly. "Then I guess it's time for the talk. Chris."
He nodded and quickly jogged up. "What's up? What do you need?"
I sat down and motioned him to my arm. "Pop it back." He immediately sat beside me and I laid down, closing my eyes since I knew this would hurt like a bitch.
"Okay relax." He said softly while grabbing my wrist. He slowly lifted it before snapping it up suddenly and I clenched my teeth, feeling the pain radiate from my shoulder to all over my body. "One more.."
"Fuck!" I hissed at the final adjustment but I shrugged softly and could feel it back in place. "Thank you." I breathed out and sat up before putting my arm back in the sling. "Chris I know this is above your head.. I wouldn't hold it against you if you left right now."
"What?" He waved his hand. "Hell no. I signed up for the agency to do good work. This is good work." I smiled softly before sitting up and looking at the others.
"I need someone to take Brooklyn somewhere safe." I said, my eyes moving towards the back door where Juno was trying to keep his mind off of what just happened so they were in the jumper again. "I don't want him around this mess."
"We'll take him." Pais said with a nod. "I'll make sure they're both taken care of like my life depends on it." She added and I smiled before nodding softly and she was off to the back to grab them.
"Flower I think-"
"No." She said and cut me off. Her head shook as she slowly sat down on the couch. "I would like to meet Mrs. King.. if you don't mind." The crazed look in her eye told me she wanted to do more than just meet her. Oh boy..
"Okay I got something." Ross said and I slid next to him and looked at his computer. "It looks like they're about five miles over the Pacific." He looked up at me and we had the same thought. "California."
"Goddamit!" I hissed and threw my phone down before shaking my head. "I can't fly my helicopter that far. I only have three hours of fuel before we'd need to land."
"And we cant take a flight.. we're on the wanted list." Flower sighed out. "Especially me, I almost killed a man." My eyes widened and I looked over at her but she waved her hand nonchalantly. "He swung at me first."
"How long to drive? That's like thirty hours." I dropped my head into my hands and groaned. "Who knows what that sick bastard can get done in thirty hours."
"Y/n." I looked at Chris with a nod. "Do you just have a helicopter pilot license?"
"No I airplane as well, why?" He smiled and pulled out his phone to make a call, I assumed.
"Hey Jerry, I'm calling in that favor." My eyebrows furrowed as he chuckled. "I know. Anyways, I'm going to need to borrow your plane for a few days, that cool? Great. Be there in a few hours." He hung up and I stared at him with astonishment. "What?"
