Warriors: The Rise of Moonfur

Chapter 21

~~~~Two moons later~~~

Moonfur watched proudly as her kits were taught battle moves. Frightpaw was being taught by Frogleap and Fearpaw was being taught by Bone. Frightpaw swiped her paw at Frogleap's legs, trying to trip her. Frogleap leaped over and pinned her down, laughing. "Try harder! You'll get it soon enough." Fearpaw was currently being taught by Bone how to stalk a pigeon. Fearpaw pounced on Bone's tail. Bone just nodded. "Good, we'll practice more later." Then the two mentors took their apprentices hunting. Moonfur walked around, nodding to every cat she saw. Racoontail soon came up to her. "A strange cat has been coming here for a while, You haven't seen him yet Moonfur. Boulder has also been coming back with this cat. Be warned." She mewed, quickly padding away. Moonfur narrowed her eyes. 'Traitor! I thought that he left the clan moons ago...' She thought, hissing to herself. She then went to her den to nap.

~~~~~~~~~~~Timeskip to late dusk, the stars were just coming out~~~~

Moonfur yawned and exited the den. Scourge came up to her. "Stay here, I'm talking to some cat." He mewed, licking her nose. "Stay here." He repeated. The Cloudclan leader nodded and went back inside the den, but kept her head outside, her ears perked. She spotted a large brown tabby. Scourge talked to him, sitting across from him. They were talking about some kind of agreement. "Yes Tigerstar, we will decide this later." She heard Scourge say. So the tabby's name was Tigerstar huh? This must be a forest cat. "So... tomorrow?" The tabby called Tigerstar asked. The Bloodclan leader nodded. "Tomorrow." He agreed. Moonfur spotted Boulder sitting next to Tigerstar. She growled softly, telling herself not to pounce and kill him right there and then. "Shall we leave, Tigerstar?" Boulder burst into her thoughts and made her stop growling. She continued to listen closely. Tigerstar nodded. "Yes, come along Boulder. We have some business to attend to." He grumbled, walking out of the alleyway.

Scourge gave a relieved sigh and nodded slowly. "So it is, old friend." He smirked. Moonfur narrowed her eyes and walked up to her mate slowly. "Scourge, may I ask, who that exactly was?" She growled softly. "Oh that was Tigerstar. We are going to take over the forest, and Bloodclan will rule everything. Just imagine how much prey and territory we'll have!" He smirked. "Those foolish forest cats don't know what's coming."  Moonfur shook her head. "It seems like there's something you aren't telling me... Old friend? What was that about?" She questioned. 

Scourge sighed sadly. "You said only Bloodclan will rule the forest... Are... are you going to... Kill him?" She widened her fierce golden eyes. The small tom shook his dark furred head. "You got me... but come into the den so that I can get this weight off my shoulders." Scourge replied, padding into their den. Moonfur closely followed him, peeking outside before coming inside the den. Scourge sat down on the other side as his mate sat right across, flicking her black-tipped tail. "Tell me." She  urged, her eyes full of pleading and concern. Scourge sighed once more before letting everything spill. "Remember when I came from the forest, bruised and covered with blood?" Moonfur nodded slowly. "Well, that cat, Tigerstar, was an apprentice. He was with two other cats, Bluefur and Thistleclaw I believe they were.  Tigerstar... I mean Tigerpaw... was ordered to attack me for being on 'territory'. He beat me up pretty badly, but soon Bluefur stopped him before he could kill me. I will never be more thankful for her help... And now I want revenge." Moonfur nodded, sadness forming in her sparkling eyes. "I'm so, so sorry Scourge."

She went up to him and layed her head on his chest, a tear running down her cheek. Scourge comforted her with licks. "It's alright my love, everything will be alright..." He soothed calming words into her ear as she let it all out. Scourge couldn't help thinking of the time he gave food to his lost siblings, but forced them out. He just tried to clear his mind and empty his depressing thoughts. Meanwhile, Moonfur stopped. He looked down and saw her, fast asleep. He purred and licked her head, gently laying her down on the soft pile of garbage. He soon lied down next to her and curled up, their tails twinned together. Scourge purred until he fell fast asleep as well.
