~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~5 Moons Later~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Moonkit stalked around in the undergrowth. Her haunches were in a great position, while her tail was sticking up. It's black tip glittered in the sunlight. As she stalked, she didn't see a large twig in front of her and- "Owww...." Moonkit tripped over the twig. She shook out her snow white coat and smiled. "At least I'm not hurt very badly..." She mewed to herself softly, while grooming herself. Moonkit licked down the fur that was sticking up from the fall. Soon, all her fur was down to its correct position. Moonkit purred and soon spotted her mother talking to Muddy the cat, the cat that lived next to her den. She decided to scare them, but she would have to be very quiet and have the correct position at all times. She went back into the thick bushes and stalked slowly and quietly through them. 'I'm getting close.' She thought as she past a large flower bush.
Soon, the two cats were plain in sight. Muddy's brown fur stuck up and curved into many directions as he talked to Stonepelt. While Stonepelt purred and listened, Moonkit got closer and closer. A heartbeat later, she could almost lick them. Moonkit was a bit nervous that she was so close to these cats that she started to shake. 'I'm almost there, now jump out and scare them!' She yelled at herself in thought. Then, she felt someone holding her scruff. It was her mother, Stonepelt. "I see you were trying to scare us. Your techniques were impressive, but you need to keep that tail of yours down!" Stonepelt purred. Moonkit giggled and ran into the twoleg den for a drink. As she got there, her twoleg patted her on the head and walked into a room. Moonkit padded to her water bowl and lapped out the water with her flexible tongue. As she drank it, her mother came in and licked Moonkit behind her ears. "Hello sweet." She purred. Moonkit soon finished her water and purred in reply to her mother. "In another moon, you will be an apprentice.  Isn't that exciting?" Stonepelt asked, watching Moonkit with her blue eyes.
"Yeah!" Moonkit yowled and purred. "Alright, quiet down now. The twolegs want us to be quiet." She mewed and licked Moonkit's soft head. Stonepelt imagined her whole family in one picture. No one dead, or lost. She smiled as she thought about her loving mate. 'He would be so proud.' Stonepelt thought to herself. "Mom, why are you just staring at me? Mom? Moooom?" Moonkit continued to question her. She was starting to creep her out. "Mother?" she mewed again, but still nothing. Moonkit just purred in amusement and went to her favorite toy, a squeaky mouse. She tossed and bit it. Moonkit soon chased it around the room because one of her twolegs was running around, carrying her mouse. She knocked it out of their paws and started to chew on it. She smiled to herself. Life is good.
Stonepelt finished her thoughts and watched Moonkit play. She purred and joined her until it was time to go to sleep. "Moonkit, it's sleep time." "No! i'm not..." She yawned. "Yes you are!" Stonepelt purred and picked Moonkit up by her scruff and walked over to their own comfortable den. They went into it. Stonepelt placed Moonkit down as she organized the bed for them to sleep in for tonight. This was the same place she gave birth in, so it brought back many sad and happy memories. She purred as Moonkit curled up beside her and started to snore. Today was a good day.
