"Anveya, this is unexpected. What can I do for you?" The Elemental asked as I walked into his office. Karinossa watched from her own desk just outside until the doors closed.

I took a breath. Let it out. "I need you to exorcise a demon from me."

   Absolute silence.

The Elemental's chair moved back blurringly fast, and then his eccentric, power filled eyes were narrowed and glaring down at me. His voice came out dangerously. "Anveya, what happened?"

In my mind, Tenebris was roaring her hatred, calling me a traitor and a pythan socomin kadan, the demonic expression for 'a piece of witch filth.' I had had enough demons call me that to know the loose translation. My head began to ring from the amount of rage she was manifesting in my core.

The Elemental saw my slight wince and immediately gripped my arm with my witch mark tattoo closer to him, detaining me from moving with a startlingly painful grip. His warlock mark glowed white under his wonted grey shirt as did mine, light flaring in the space between us, its rays shining on his grim face and my own confused one.

The Elemental's magic surged forward in a thunderous crash, using our physical touch as a connection between our souls and our magic. Goddess, he really was powerful. And then he was speaking in my mind—in Tenebris' mind. "Demon. You do not belong."

Tenebris remained unfazed. "The girl let me in. The girl shall let me out, when our bargain is complete."

"I didn't let you in," I growled at the demon. "You fused our magic together without my consent! Get out."

"You need me." The Elemental's magic speared towards her in my soul. "If you stand any chance of fulfilling the Prophecy, you NEED ME!"

"I don't need you for anything! I am the Supernal, and last I checked, you weren't in the Prophecy!"

"ENOUGH!" The Elemental roared. Although our conversation was happening telepathically, the walls and the very structure of the school itself shook with The Elemental's anger as though they were connected. Given his strength, I wouldn't be surprised.

"Blessed One," Tenebris growled, "he cannot be trusted."

"Demon, I am the only one she can trust. Remove yourself from her soul or I will."

"I would very much like to see you try, warlock."

I didn't like the look that appeared in The Elemental's eyes at that. His mouth that usually lifted slightly in a smile in my presence was now a hard line. He briefly shot me a look that conveyed everything words couldn't. He was sorry for the pain that he was about to cause, but we needed Tenebris out. I merely gave a small dip of my head—and then the world went white with pain.
