My eyelashes flicker open, gently butterfly kissing the air as my irises are slowly revealed. A soft orange haze fills the unfamiliar room. The walls were painted a light yellow with a white trim. The mahogany chair, bedside table, and butterfly quilt covering myself and the bed were the only furniture in the room. Even without dust, I can tell the room isn't used often.
A light draft caresses my vulnerable body. Someone had changed me. Instead of my mother's green dress, I'm wearing a silk night gown. Just the night gown. My hand travels to the hammering feeling on the back of my head to find no bandages or blood. Good. I'll be damned if that hot headed wretch had managed to draw blood from me.
My heart begins to flutter at the sight of the blonde mop-head laying at the end of my bed. His pale fingers hold tight to the quilt, balling up the fabric even as he sleeps. He doesn't make a sound, but pain is written all over his face from his knitted eyebrows to the streaks of dried tears that lead to his clenched jaw.
"Alois," my hand combs through his golden locks. Normally, Ellis wouldn't even let the him onto our property, let alone in my room. Something is clearly amiss. His eyes light up the second they meet my own.
"YN." He is careful to keep his voice down as he gingerly wraps his arms around my chest. "I'm so sorry... I was so worried that I'd lose you."
I didn't realize I was cold until he warmed my heart. My body automatically returns his embrace as I continue to steal his warmth. "You haven't done anything wrong," my voice comes out shakily as I cling to the boy crying on my shoulder.
His head flings up in desperation, "I should have protected-" My hands pull his face towards mine.
"Alois, nothing could have been done. You were there for me. I shall recover. No need for the dramatics."
"YN..." He closes the remaining distance between us and before I have the chance to retort, the blond boy's lips force themselves against mine. His hands lay on either side of my head and his bent knee rests between my bare legs. Nervousness pumps through my entire body as the boy above presses his body against my own. Despite the heat emanating between us, I freeze up as Alois continues to passionately work his mouth against mine. This is not what un-betrothed people do. He was right to say we were no longer simply a boy and a girl. We were a man and a woman, with similar desires.
Quicker than expected, the moment is over. Ellis' green eyes are full of rage as he yanks Alois' head away from mine. My heart sinks as I notice the blonde's pained expression. The realization hits me just as hard as my butler's hand across Alois' face.
"How dare you take advantage of m'lady!" He yelled, eyes glowing a frightening emerald.
But did he?
