A MONTH LATER

We had settled into a routine here at the rebel camp. Vurzek and I constantly worked on strategies for building a following and ways to dethrone my brother without too many casualties. 

Kiera and Slix had officially started dating one another openly but they still had not bonded yet. Slix admitted to believing she was meant to be his bonded, yet Kiera maintained that she wasn't ready for it 

It took time for many to accept the fact that Leena was my bonded. However the knowledge that she could carry our youngling paired with the news of the human females arrival to do so. Garnered us a lot of happiness and acceptance. Males were desperate to become fathers. For so long they thought the dream lost to them

It was fulfilling to bring them such hope for a brighter further

My sweet Leena's stomach seemed to grow larger every day. It filled me with such joy to see my youngling growing within her and to know soon i will be a father, however I've been equally filled with fear and worry.

 I had hoped to be done with this fight against my brother before she gave birth. No one here could tell us anything nor assist her if she had the baby soon. The only healers who had any knowledge about human anatomy were back at the Reziq( castle).

I shook away those troubling thoughts and woke Leena as i did each morning. And  just as she did each morning, she grumbled and groaned about not enough sleep forcing me to carry her down to the stream

Once the water hit her body she would instantly jerk awake curse me out and then we would frolic and play until we inevitably grew aroused, then id ravish her thoroughly before we finally cleaned up and headed to the morning meal

As we sat at the fire which seemed to be everyone's most popular place to eat and converse. I sat Leena in my lap 

Vurzek, Brez, Kiera and Slix along with a few other LoQuans sat eating heartily. I hand fed Leena much to her annoyance and my pleasure

"My prince may i ask a question?" Brez asked interrupting the comfortable quiet 

"Of course"

"What was it like on earth?"

His face was eager and attentive as he stared at me waiting for my answer. I assumed he wanted my perspective on it since he didn't ask the girls instead

I shot a glance at Slix before i spoke, he only gave me a sly grin

"It was interesting....unlike here, the weather is sporadic. There is only one sun and one moon"

His eyebrows raised in surprise 

"How strange" He commented

"Yea same here buddy" Kiera quipped as she chewed not bothering to even glance at him

I heard Vurzek chuckle he seemed often amused by Kiera where i was always slightly annoyed

"What did you eat there? You must have missed our foods"  

"Indeed" Slix said

"Hey! our foods arent bad" Kiera snipped offense in her eyes as she shot dagger s at him

"NO" my sweet not bad only....different" he amended giving me a troubled side eye

I chuckled quietly until Leena elbowed me

"Mostly i recall eating a lot of a round short animal i believe and a creature with hooves that seemed quite docile but was tasty enough." 

Leena laughed "Boars and Deer. That's mostly all that's left. All the animals us humans to enjoy eating often have gone extinct"

I winced in guilt as did Vurzek at her words. That was our peoples doing

"I am sorry my sweet"

"I'm not. How would  i have ever met you otherwise. Sometimes out of tragedy can come the most amazing things"

I smiled staring at this amazing woman i was privileged to have as my own. My life was so fulfilled and enriched all because of her presence. Since the day we met when i was a scared boy barely in my prime, I knew she would come to mean much to me

I pressed as soft kiss to her lips in appreciation and love

Vurzek finished his meal and cleared his throat instantly gaining my attention

"Prince Xui, i have been contemplating this for days and i think it would be a good idea if you revisited the poor district"

Leena stared in horror at him "After what happened last time?"

I had told Vurzek all about what happened there and he didn't seem at all surprised. 

"Yes they were unaware of who you were and what you were trying to achieve. If you hope to replace your brother and have p[people believe you are not going to be as vile, then you need to show them that"

I considered his words and decided he was right. It was the same thing i had done on earth when i plotted to overthrow my father

"Xui only needs to kill his bastard brother that's all. Hes the only royalty left. who would dispute his claim to the throne?" Kiera commented

"Yes but claim to the throne or not. People shouldn't see him as just another corrupt monarch. His rule will be tainted before it even begins that way." Vurzek countered 

Especially if he simply kills his own brother in cold blood. People will be like wow hes a tyrant. Worse  than his family. Killing them just to take the throne. they need to know hes killing him for the betterment of the planet and people " Leena added

"I agree" Slix replied

"As do i what do you suggest?"

"Tomorrow we go there and you hold a speech. Talk about ways you plan to bring change and how you sympathize and know how your brother has been neglecting them"

"Yea and talk about what he has done to you" 

"And speak of the human females. Show the rounded belly of your own bonded" Brez said cutting his eyes at Leena's  stomach. Instinctively my hand began to caress it. "Many males and females i have spoken to around camp have been abuzz with excitement over the prospect. It will surely lift there hopes also"

"Excellent idea son" Vurzek praised

I nodded agreeing. all of it was great advice that i would heed.

"Tomorrow then, however i want plenty of fighters stationed throughout. My bonded's safety must be paramount"

"Of course my prince we would never put you or your bonded at risk. I will personally make sure all possible safety measures are executed"

We continued to chat and eat unknowing that tomorrow would change all our carefully laid plans............

Action will be from here on out as we get closer to the end
