My baby is having a baby. He hasn't even graduated high school and he's having a kid. I'm going to throw up.
"Okay so, August that means you are about 4 months or so? Which means this happened back in like November, and you're just finding out now?" Colson asked the kids.
"Her periods have always been all over the place." Kase answered.
"This, y'all thought I was going to be the first and this is hilarious." Cole said.
"Cole, bedroom now." I stated while pointing to the stairs.
"Oh, come on!"
"I said now." He huffed but headed upstairs anyway.
"Alright, don't take this the wrong way or anything, because I know its going to sound bad, but is this a way to trap Kase?" Colson asked and honestly, I was quite surprised.
"Dad!"
"No, it's okay, it's a valid question." Sadie said softly. Kase looked at her confused.
"How is that a valid question, it's an accusation. We've been together for two and a half years what in the heck would make anyone thing..." She put her hand on his chest.
"Stop, its valid. You're going to be in the X-Games this summer, along with the fact that at 18 you partially own an extremely successful business. You're kind of a catch." She laughed slightly. "But to answer your question, no, not at all. I was accepted into the medical program for next year."
"What? That's amazing, I'm so proud of you." Kase cut her off and kissed her cheek. Sadie blushed and looked down.
"Anyway, this obviously throws a wrench into all of that, I never wanted my future, our future jeopardized. I love you son. I know we're young and naive and all of that but I truly love him with every fiber of my being."
"You seem very calm about all of this." I finally said.
"I've had a few days to process." She answered. I covered my mouth. I honestly didn't know what to say about all of this anymore.
"I think the two of you need to go and tell Sadie's parents. We need to make the best decisions about this entire situation, and in order to do that they need to know as soon as possible." Colson said. The kids both nodded their heads and stood up. We weren't close to Sadie's parents, they've been over a few times for cookouts and things like that, but that's really where the relationship ended. I tried really hard to become her mother's friend, but to be honest they're the stuck-up Richie rich type, and obviously we are not. "Try to be back for dinner, as always Sadie you are more than welcome to be here."
"Thank you." Sadie said quietly. Colson pulled Kase in for a hug, I did the same with Sadie.
"It's going to be okay." I whispered in her ear and felt tension leave her body. Then I pulled Kase into a hug and Colson hugged Sadie.
"I'm so sorry Mom. Please don't be disappointed in me." I pulled back so I could see Kase's face.
"Baby, I could never be disappointed in you. I know you'll step up and do what's right and for that I am proud." He gave me a weak smile before leaving our embrace. Then took Sadie's hand and they left the house.
"What the fuck just happened?" Colson looked over at me his gorgeous blue eyes wide as all hell.
"I think we just went through all 5 stages of acceptance that one of our children is going to be a parent." I nodded once.
