(This chapter is split in two parts, the first part is the rest of Toothless' day and the second part is Hiccup's day. Enjoy!)
Toothless POV: making our way out of the mead hall was quite challenging. weaving in and out of the tables and Vikings that obstructed our path towards the large doors. we eventually made it, giggling about the scene that we just saw moments before closing the doors, it seemed to look like the beginning of a food fight. *glad we got out of there...* I really didn't want to clean some sticky human food off my scales, and the thought of it made me shiver. But that was behind us, now we were by the sun, which was as blinding as ever. It was just slightly past the middle of the day, and it didn't feel right to just head inside and wait till the next morning, right now I was dying for some play time. But hiccup was already gone, so playing with him was out of the picture. Stormfly knew what I wanted, it was always around this time me and hiccup would go on an adventure, or even just play around in the village, causing all sorts of trouble, whether it be me chasing him, or him planning something extraordinarily stupid which was bound to get us into trouble. Yet it never stopped us, and that's what I loved about it. But, now it was only me and stormfly, no humans to bother us, and no humans for us to bother. "Toothless, it's far too early to call it a day, how about a little walk in the woods? You could even show me that place where you met hiccup?" I completely forgot that she hasn't been to the cove yet, even though it has been five years since all this dragon human combo thing started. "Uhh... well.... I might, but that place is a little bit special to me.... I don't want the word getting out about its location and it being used as a hangout spot for Vikings...." even the thought of that saddened me, but she understood. "Hey, it's fine, you don't need to show me. And who says I was going to tell anyone else about it? If it's special to you, it's special to me too. And if it's something you want to keep safe from strangers? Then I can understand why you've kept it to yourself all these years." She was speaking respectfully, and thankfully not disappointment. She waited for me to make my move, which I did, signalling her to follow, and I started out walk by heading west.
We reached the proximity of the cove, now just a five minute walk away from it. I told stormfly that I'd actually be taking her, and she got rather excited about the idea of going to the origin place of my friendship with hiccup. As long as she kept her mouth shut about its location, I'd allow her to make a visit. she promised not to tell a soul, but I already trusted her enough. I just wanted her to get the message. But we slowly made our way towards the brim of the cove, but there was something I wanted to show her first. "Wow.... was that you?" We were staring at the long shallow whole I made when I crashed down to earth. "Yeah...... not exactly the best experience I've had in my life.... but so much happened in such little time. I can't remember if it was those trees or the rocks that stole my ability to fly...." it was painful seeing this sight again... but it almost felt necessary for her to know why I was in the cove. "Ouch..... that's... a lot of trees you hit.... and then the large bolder on the ground? I really couldn't imagine how that must have felt. But thanks tooth.... for taking me here... I know this must hurt you.... i certainly wouldn't want to be in this area if u were you.... how about you show me the cove itself? And get you away from this little area?" It would do me well. But I stayed for a minute longer, thinking of what happened that day.... some of my nightmares took influence from this horrible memory, not letting me forget it. But stormfly pulled me aside, looking me in my sad eyes and told me what happened in the past doesn't neet to haunt me any more... but she was right, that was one night of my life. It doesn't need to take up another. I finally arrived with her at the cove, and let her take a minute to look at it before entering. "Toothless........ its... its beautiful....." her eyes looked like they twinkle at the view. It was beautiful. The huge pond looked amazing, the rim around the cove that we were standing on was littered with pretty flowers of all sorts of colours, the giant tree roots looked great with the way they dripped down and into the deeper parts of the cove itself. She wanted to hop in, looking at me, waiting for permission. Which I gave her by telling her to follow when I began my glide down and into the deep whole in the earth.
