The story of Masen Elizabeth Cullen

Chapter 7

      When I walked down stairs the next morning everyone was down stairs waiting for me. Alice stood by the door looking a little too excited for my liking. Jasper stood next to her looking dead serious in a way that almost scared me. Rosalie was seated on Emmet's lap with a curious look on her face while Emmet didn't look his usually goofy self. Carlisle and Esme were on the couch giving me looks I didn't know what meant. Renesmee had the same frightening enthusiasm plastered on her face as Alice as she  snuggled up to Jake on the love seat. Mom Stood at the doorway looking worried, dad next to her had the same look on his face as he did last night when dad was getting the story from Jake. All in all everybody was acting strange.

    Everyone stared at me for a long moment until Renesmee finally jumped up, not able to contain it any longer.

   "A present came for you!"  she squealed handing me a small rectangular gift wrapped box with a shiny silver bow on top.

  " Who's it from?" I asked as i took it in my hand wondering who could want to send me a gift.

  " The scent wasn't one we have encountered, but it was defiantly a werewolf." Carlisle explained while my dad mumbled under his breath obviously not liking this one bit. No Wonder Jasper and Emmett looked so serious. I wonder what werewolf would send me a gift. I wasn't on good terms with any at the moment, nor did i think i ever would be.

   As i was thinking this over Renesmee seemed to be getting impatient. She tapped her foot, arms crossed over her chest, ogling the thin box as if she was a ravenous wolf.

  " Are you going to open it now or what?" She finally yelled exasperated throwing her hands in the air. It was so easy to get my sister riled up.

  "Fine, fine!" I agreed " but you don't have to be so pushy about it." She stuck her tongue out at me and I laughed.

Everyone stared at me intently at me as i opened the box to find a sparkly silver charm bracelet. The charms were all famous historical places around the world. There was the Eiffel tower, the sphinx pyramid, the Christ Redeemer statue, the wall of china, the Taj Mahal, Stonehenge, and the notre dame cathedral. It was so amazing. How did this person know these were all the places i wished to visit one day?

   " That's so sweet!" Esme said admiring it over my shoulder. All the girls proceeded to fawn over it in the way girls do. My dad and uncles , on the other hand, didn't look to pleased with my new peice of jewelry.

  " Who's it from?" Emmett asked. They all stopped in middle of what they were saying to look at me questionably.

  I picked up a white card on sitting at the edge of the box underneath the paper. In surprisingly neat handwriting it said

                  ' Something to say i'm sorry

                                                                , Love Wes'

   My dad immediately flipped as soon as he read the note through my thoughts.

  " Why is that mutt sending you gifts? He think he can win you over with a piece of cheap jewelry?" His facial features had hardened and he looked ready to kill.Then Jake jumped in obviously offended with the mutt comment.

   " Well he may be a mutt, but he's a mutt that imprinted on masen."

 The whole room froze, everyone looking at Jacob in shock. Wes had imprinted on me? The thought kept running through my head over and over, yet i couldn't make sense of it. How could someone who had been so terrible to me be the person i was destined to be with forever? Fate must have a twisted sense of humor.

  " What?" My dad yelled, livid.

  Jacob looked taken aback as if he had just realized what had come out of his own mouth.

 " Don't be mad, he's a good kid. He's just been through a really rough time lately, Masen will be good for him." Jacob stated his anger leaving him, his voice turning pleading.

  " Masen will not be good for him because masen will be going no where near him! Is that understood?" he asked me. i nodded my head mutely.

 " But edward!" My mother and Alice both chimed in at the same time.

" No buts! She will not see him and that's final! Now go to school." He barked grabbing the bracelet from my hand and turning to walk away, leaving me as confused as ever.
