The island was a small section of land less than a mile away from the beach. That's where all the best college parties are thrown, and since Nene and I look to be in college we fit right in.

I met Nenavist where she was preparing her jet ski, as she turned toward me her dyed black hair flung around in the breeze. Today the ends were also dyed a neon yellow, it matched perfectly with the tight neon yellow dress she wore. The dress was perfect for her, it was tight in all the right places and showed off her perfectly curved body.

She waved for me to come quick, her dark red lips rising up in an almost feral smile. She was scary, but a friend nevertheless. The ride to the island was quick and short. The waves seemed to switch direction in order to push us faster the whole way.

As we neared the island we could hear the base and music bouncing off the trees. Lights were strung up covering the island, and drunk college kids held red solo cups of who knows what.

Climbing off the black jet ski, Nene didn't bother to wait for me as she strode towards a table full of beer cans and a clear bowl of red punch. I shook my head and climbed off the jet ski, I wobbled for a second on the sand in my wedges. It was truly a miracle how well Nene walked in heels, she never wobbled on the uneven terrain even though her heels were a total two inches taller than mine. I made my way towards her, squeezing past drunks, dancers, and the occasional one-night flings.

Nene was pouring some sort of white powder into a cup of punch she grabbed, although I bet that enough drugs were already put into that punch bowl that could knock someone out if they finished a whole cup. Nene didn't hold back though, dropping the rest of the powder into it and also adding in some blue pill. She grinned at me and raised her red cup up.

"I propose a toast to... getting drunk af." She tossed her head back and guzzled as much as she could.

"How much did you put in there," I asked and motioned towards her half-drunk cup. She looked down at it and shrugged.

"As much as I could." She glared off at the ocean in the distance, irritation flickering in her dark hazel eyes. I glanced around the party and noticed a circle of people seated down on the grass spinning a small bottle.

Nene looked over towards where I was staring, the gears turning in her head. She then took my elbow and yanked me towards it. I didn't complain though but I did grab a quick beer before cooperating.

The circle easily made room, there could have only been about fifteen of us playing the game. I watched as a girl spun the bottle and it landed on a guy, the girl grinned at him.

"I dare you to...," the girl looked around the island before deciding. "I dare you to ask out Emily." The guy rolled his eyes but stood up.

"You're too predictable," the guy muttered and walked towards a girl leaning against a tree. I watched as he said something to her and shoved back his blond hair in a seductive manner. The girl seemed to freeze up, but she slowly nodded her head. The guy winked at her and made his way back to the circle leaving the frozen girl to blush madly behind him.

The girl that made the dared crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. The guy didn't notice her though and instead spun the bottle in a fast motion. Nene watched the bottle with glowing eyes as it slowed down and landed on her.

"Now you better not pick such a woosy dare as that girl did," Nene curled a strand of her hair around her finger. The guy's lips pinched clearing accepting her challenge.

"I dare you to take five shots," he smirked as others gasped aloud.

Nene let out a crow of a laugh, "now that's something up my alley." Two people carried over five shots full of vodka and Nene grabbed one by one, down them without a second thought. People's mouths opened in shock as she grinned wildly, seeming completely unfazed.

"Vodka was always my favorite," she seethed her Russian accent becoming a little heavier. It was really the only sign that the drinks had started to take effect along with whatever she took earlier. She grabbed the bottle, her long black nails clicking on the glass and spun it.

I watched the bottle as it went round and round until it inevitably slowed down and pointed right at me. A grin spread across Nene's face as she assessed me. I sent her a sharp look, hoping that she won't make me do anything too stupid.

"Alright, little pусалка," the corners of her mouth quirked up. "I dare you to make out with the fifth person to your left."

I gave her a dirty look and looked over to the people that resided to the left of me, counting over my eyes landed on a guy. He was tan from spending hours in the sun, and his brown hair rustled slightly in the breeze. Then there were his eyes, they were a mixture of light and dark browns and the inner ring reminded me of amber. I knew my cheeks had flared up to bright pink, and I sent one more withering glare at Nene. She just shrugged at me but her expression shone with mischievousness.

Looking at him I find that his cheeks are a little pink also, and his friend nudges him playfully. We both look at each other unsure what to do, but hesitantly I stand up and he joins me. We stand there for a second and I give him a small fake smile. Because in reality, my heart is pounding.

A few years ago I would have run around kissing all the boys I wanted, but that was in the past. Now I just floated around following Nene to parties... I just no longer felt connected.

"Hey..." I say to the cute guy, I avoided eye contact. God, this was gonna be awkward.

"Hey" He replies, equally timid. I glanced up to find him doing the exact same thing as me.

He looks up and meets my eyes, aware of what everyone is expecting us to do. The handsome stranger looked down at my lips, I didn't even know his name but even so I couldn't help myself from leaning in closer.

His lips connected to mine hesitantly. The kiss was light at first, we barely grazed each other's lips. God, he smelled good, like cedar and Lavender. Without even thinking I leaned in more and he did the same. I immediately melted into his arms as he tightened his grip. Faintly I could hear some people cheering and whistling. We broke away, looking at each other.

The boy's cheeks were flaming red, and I knew very well that my cheeks were too. I met Nene's eyes and scowled playfully at her.

I sat back down next to her and she whispered into my ear, "make sure to get his number before we get out of here." I shoved her away but a smile played on my lips.
