(Y/N) Pov:
“I see. So that’s how you ended up down here. I had a feeling you didn’t work here before all this. You’re still just a young lady in college. I understand how it might feel, being trapped down here. I was alone, having turned into this. But you, you met Edgar, and then Charley. They helped you through this so you weren’t alone” said Bertrum, smiling.
I smiled back and nodded.
“Yah, I guess you’re right” I said, glancing over at the three Butcher Gang members.
Charley was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. Barley was holding his head up, in his hands, looking up at Striker who was resting on top of a bookshelf, dozing off.
I smiled gently at the sight of all three Butcher Gang members, the original trio back together again.
“Well, you should probably be on your way. You’re going off to kill Twisted Alice, correct?” asked Bertrum.
“Oh! Yes, we are. We just need to turn on power for that ride so we could get through” I said, looking back up at him.
“Very well. There’s a lever over there. There are four you need to pull before power can be restored. There are two more, assuming you already got the first one. One is Research and Design and the final one is down in Maintenance” explained Bertrum.
Charley perked up when he mentioned this.
“Dang Doodly Nebbit! I knew I forgot something!” said Charley, slapping his forehead with the palm of his hand.
“Wha''s new?” asked Striker sarcastically, opening his human eye and glancing down at Charley.
Charley groaned in anger, pointing an accusing finger up at Striker.
“Don’t be a smartass Edgar. We didn’t pull the lever in Research and Design” said Charley, glaring up at the spider-like creature.
Striker just rolled his eyes, muttering something about his name being Striker and not Edgar.
“Ok, how about we split up. Me and Striker go down to Maintenance while you two go back to Research and Design, alright?” I proposed, not wanting to see them get in a fight.
“Fine wi'h me” said Striker, shrugging. He jumped down from the bookshelf and stood beside me, his hands on his hips.
“It'll be more speed, catch some wind, lads, so we don't 'ave to waste too much time” said Barley, nodding his head in agreement, which was literally just him moving it up and down since he was holding it in his hands.
Charley looked like he wanted to argue, but he sighed in annoyance, nodding reluctantly.
“Fine, let’s just get this over with” he said, scowling.
“Alright. Thanks for the help Bertrum” I said, pulling the lever before walking over to the door, smiling and waving as we left.
“It was my pleasure. Kill Twisted Alice and the Ink Demon for me” called Bertrum, smiling before the wooden panels closed, hiding his head.
Now standing in the main carnival room, I looked around before spotting a doorway with the sign saying ‘Maintenance’ above the door.
“Come on Striker, let’s go. You two be careful, alright?” I said, glancing over at Charley and Barley.
Charley nodded and Barley used one hand to salute, holding his head with the other.
I gave them one final nod before turning around, walking through the door to Maintenance with Striker right beside me.
