Although...
the world seem to close
In around us
It chokes
And shakes
Us to the core
And leave us trembling at the
Pinpricking coldness
Of the inevitableWe run
We chase
What ever is left
We hope
We pray
We cling on
To the dreams still alive
Within usConsolidating
Whatever light there is
In hopes of
Alleviating the decay
Caused by disease,
the uncertainty
Of tomorrow,
The futility of what is nowWe run
We hide
We look inward
We seek
We find
The solace of our labyrinthine
Mind
Our only refuge
Our way out
Our means to misconstrue realityAt least then we find ourselves entertained.
At least then we find ourselves unaware.
