you'd been "friends" with him since you met him at your school when you were children. it was unclear because he distanced from you whenever his family gets him from school or just randomly in front of crowds. you had no complaints since you were the same.

you both went to UA after, through recommendations, since your family have stocks in the school and that your family is filled with pro-heroes.

that fact still makes your stomach churn. you don't like the attention attached with your name.

you walked silently to the room, barely making any sound. the other people in the classroom didn't notice you walking in so they were surprised when they saw you in your seat, next to shoto which was equally silent. both of you were also just writing down things in your notebook while listening to music.

looking at him secretly, you noticed his hair grew a bit and he grew taller judging on how he was hunched on his chair. he had his lips pressed for a bit, a small expression he creates when he is writing. you focused on writing down facts about the next lessons until aizawa arrived.

the quirk apprehension test was a blur of showcasing quirks, yours being a quirk like best jeanist's. you were often compared to him which actually honored you.

when lunch came, shoto and you shared bento boxes in the classroom silently.
he broke the silence first.

"it's a surprise you managed to not talk to me for half a day y/n," he mumbled jokingly. he doesn't usually expose his humor but you were used to it.

"i'll throw that back at you shoto," you mused while he softly chuckled.

"we sure got a talkative bunch of people as our classmates this year," he stated and you agreed. before the others arrived, you two were done with your lunches and went back to your own worlds.

it came off as a surprise when the others spotted you two together walking around in nearly empty to abandoned places. once they bombarded both of you with questions, you two resorted to telling them you're just friends. childhood friends to be exact. they pouted and grumbled, saying things about a ship not sailing after telling them.

however, you knew deep down, your feelings contradicted what you told them. you told them a lie you knew all too well. you pondered over the feelings first and dismissed them.

'they can wait,' you thought.

when you heard about endeavor being in hosu at the time you were interning with best jeanist, you called shoto first. he reassured you that he was okay and the was doing fine. he also filled you in with other things and same goes at your side.

bakugo asked what shoto is to you, surprisingly in a gentle way. you told him the lie and he told you to cut it.

bakugo became your secret keeper after.

"you're a fool y/n," bakugo told her the day you watched shoto waiting for his bride who was walking on the aisle.

you looked away from the two-toned boy, wishing you told him what you felt before you messed up, chickened out.

you then looked at bakugo, at your secret keeper's family, at the smiles they exchanged.

she wished she had him.

she wished she was,
for the first time in her life,
a bit more reckless with things
before it came
to this point.

a/n: i just finished binge watching hunter x hunter again and the feels are still there. also killua and alluka both have my hearts they are the cutest and they have the best sibling relationship for me <3 (not like i'd know what it's like coz im an only child-- :'))
