sunset.

"what will you do once we graduate from UA?" you asked shoto quietly, looking at him while he scribbled his answers on their assignment. he paused then shrugged. "i dont have any choice but to assist my father on the agency."

half of you was disappointed that it sounded like he is still being forced but it wasn't a surprise anymore coz simply put, endeavor.

you sighed then continued answering your own. "how about you?" he asked, putting his pen down and massaging his hand. you shrugged. "unlike you, i don't know where i'm headed yet," you told him and looked at the direction of UA, as if you can see through walls(you cant). "though im tired of this town, this is the only home i've ever known," you shook your head. "i might as well stay here and be a teacher or maybe help around in an agency like you." he hummed softly. you glanced at him for a moment then continued writing your answers.

"y/n, if i run away, will you come with me?" he suddenly asked. you were surprised, taken aback. "yes," you answered with no hesitation. realizing it, you blushed. he chuckled at you and ruffled your hair. "i thought so," he mumbled while smiling softly.

"MY HAIR!"

"y/n, congratulations," you heard a voice from behind. you see shoto in his hero suit and hugged him. you happily thanked him. it has been 3 years after graduation and you ended up teaching middle school students. you were assigned with the graduating batch. this was your third time watching your pupils graduate. you sighed. "they grow up so fast. i feel old just seeing them," you complained to shoto and he chuckled. you asked him how hero life is and he genuinely sounded happy talking about his career. you felt happy for the both of you being professionals in such young ages. not as good as hawks but still impressive.

"are you still up for the offer i made 3 years ago?" he brought up the subject as he drove you to your home. you remembered it clearly and you smiled. "yeah. why?" "let's do it for a whole week," he suggested, his eyes lighting up with happiness, satisfaction, comfort and warmth. where the emotions are directed was unknown to you but you felt like you are again how you were 3 years ago just seeing his expression.

for a whole week, both of you disappeared from your friends' radar. shoto took you to an island you remembered: nabu island. this is where you and the rest of class 1-A did hero jobs before. you smiled at the memory. it was a hard battle but it was something that made all of you tougher.

"y/n," shoto softly called you. you two were walking out from the small house you two chose to stay in. "i've known you since well, since the first year in UA, and i've trusted you more and more the next years. the world tested us, tried to kill us many times before, but you were a constant reminder to me to keep living. i slowly got to know you, your antics, your silence, your laugh, your smile. when you told me you'd run away with me with no hint of hesitation," he paused, looking around the beach, towards the sunset. "i knew. i knew i had to keep you. to love you, for the rest of my life. sounds cliche, doesn't it?" he had a small smile on his face as he turned towards you and held both your hands, pressing them to his lips. you blushed. "stay with me?" he asked, no other questions. you smiled up at him and pried your hands out of his. you hugged him tight and nuzzled your head on his chest.

"you should know better than anyone what my answer is, shoto" you softly told him and he hugged you closer to him. "let's go and eat," he told you and you nodded. he squeezed your hand. both of you walked out of the beach holding onto each other's hands, promising never to let go of each other.
