KYLE'S P.O.V.
"Kyle?"
You know when you try to stay afloat as the waves push you away from the shore, and a bit deeper into the vast ocean? You're masking your anxiety with that necessary relaxed posture, the world muffled out by the water swishing in your ears as you keep your internal balance? But a particularly harsh wave sends you over that fine line between relaxed, and terrified and you tumble down into the water, your balance and trust gone and the adrenaline pumping in your veins is one of fear?
Well, that's how I felt, as my heart skipped a beat a second too long and my eyes were a bit woozy as they came back to focus on Daren's face, his lips moving to form a word I couldn't focus on long enough to know what it was, and his fingers clicking right in front of my eyes forcing me to blink.
"W- what did you say?"
He smirked, just the slightest tilt of the corner of his lips, invisible to the naked eye. "You need to get into the water, my darling, it will jump-start the procedure."
Yup. I thought you said that too- oh I'm in deep shit. My body displayed a tremble of a low humming fan as my blood rushed through my veins, heated my body, caused me to sweat and in result- panic.
Being wet was a big no, no. water meant wet clothes, wet clothes meant exposure, which in turn meant- death.
It dawned on me then that I could be sealing my fate if I took any rash uncalculated move, straight into a casket it would be. That is if they granted me that privilege and didn't dissect me first.
I shuffled backwards subconsciously as my mother's words echoed loudly against the wall of my head. Hide or die, hide or die. Hide!
The fact that I had no idea who this guy even was, safe for the fact that he was my best friend's brother. I absolutely couldn't let him in on my secret. No, my secret had to be protected at all costs.
The consequences were severe and every scenario I conjured up in my head ended with me dead and my mum heartbroken; and leaving was sort of not an option, as he made very clear, telling me I'd die the longer I went untreated- I was starting to believe him less and less by the minute, though.
It's just- he has this glint in his eyes. Like he already knew what I was. Like having me here, between the devil and the deep end, was exactly where he wanted me to be. He was caging me in and he was absolutely enjoying it.
All that didn't matter though, today I leave unscathed. And my secret remains safe for another day. No matter what.
"Alright, enough stalling. Get your clothes off, and yourself in the pool. Delaying this any longer would really end up badly." His voice held a tone of irritation. His mask was slipping yet my fingers twitched in compliance with his command.
"I- I can't swim. Please! There has to be another way, another solution." I stuttered out as my mind scrambled to form an excuse.
That smirk returned to his face and I tried to block that enticing scent as he stalked closer to me, "Okay darling, calm down, I think I have another way." He steeped in a bit too much into my personal space, and for some reason, his words didn't reassure me, one bit.
He lowered himself so our eyes would connect, his hands hovering over the hem of my pants, "you'll just have to take off your pants for this one. I'm going to drain the blood from your penis," the smile that I forced out fell immediately, alongside my heart. Which decided to beat from my stomach instead.
"Oh- oh m-my god... Don't you have some sort of medication that I can just swallow down, or- or even a salve or something I could just apply on my- on my... there?"
