Chapter 6: Jaune

Ruby's pov:

Me and Weiss must have ended up falling asleep because next thing I knew, I woke up once again next to Weiss. She was still asleep though so I checked the time. 7:30. I had to meet up with team JNPR at 8:30 because we were going to get ice cream. We were originally going to get an actual meal but me and Nora begged for ice cream. I get out of bed trying not to wake Weiss but that kinda failed. Weiss was right. I am a dolt. She rubbed her eyes and yawned.
"Ruby.. what are you doing up so early? We don't have class today." Weiss said in a tired voice.
"Oh urmm well.. I'm going to meet up with Jaune and his team to get ice cream. I would spend the day with you but it's been planned all week. Sorry Weiss.." I answered as I looked down.. I don't want her to be mad.. but I know what she can be like.
"You're all around Jaune at the moment aren't you! Jaune this, Jaune that, Jaune other. It's all I hear lately Ruby! So he's clearly more important then your own girlfriend isn't he Ruby?!" Weiss said sounding upset and angry.
"N-N-No.. it's n-not like th-" I was interrupted by Weiss
"Just go Ruby. But do not expect me to help you when you need it!" I grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom to get changed. I sat there for a moment. Me and Weiss are done.. already. I want to cry so badly but I can't. I can't let her know she's upset me.. I check the time again 8:00. I quickly got changed and walked out the bathroom. Then I heard it again. Was Weiss crying..? I look over at her and she was. I left without a word. I met up with team JNPR and instantly hugged Pyrrah and cried. I let out all my tears and I wrapped my arms around her. "What's wrong Ruby?" Pyrrah said as she rubbed my back.
"M-me and W-Weiss started dating y-yesterday and we had a-an argument this morning b-because I was coming to s-see you guys.. I-I honestly can't keep the b-best relationship I-I could have..." I only just managed to say those words. I felt so broken!
"Wait wait wait.." Jaune said "So you and Weiss started dating yesterday but she got upset that you were coming out with us today so she broke up with you..??" Jaune said as I was still hugging Pyrrah.
I nodded.
"If you ask me, I'd say just ignore her and enjoy your day. She'll realise that she made a mistake soon enough then she'll want you back and you can be happy Ruby again!" Nora said. Nora is always there for me. All team JNPR was there for me when I need them. That's what I love about that team.
"J-Just no one tell Y-Yang please.. S-She'll get super mad at Weiss.. I really don't want that... I c-care about Weiss.. a lot!" I managed to say after crying a bit more. They all nod. They understand me. I feel so much better after what Nora said.
"Anyway lets go get this ice cream then Ruby since you've been waiting all week." Pyrrah said with a slight giggle. I nod and off we go.

~•at the ice cream shop•~

Pyrrah's pov:

I feel so bad for Ruby. I honestly do. I wish there was more I could do to help.. I might go talk to Weiss about it later.. Ruby really cares about Weiss and they got into an argument over the slightest thing.. we all sat down to eat our ice creams. Ruby sat next to me and put her head on my shoulder. She looked so.. how do I put this.. not Ruby. She really didn't look herself. She's wearing loose trousers and one of Yang's old t-shirts. This wasn't the Ruby we know.. she looks so broken.
"Honestly Ruby don't worry about it.. I'll speak to Weiss later. Okay?" I said in a calming tone. Ruby nodded and smiled slightly at Weiss's name. She still really loves her..
"Cheer up Ruby! We're here for you!" Nora said as she looked at Ruby from across the table. Ruby then spoke up..  but she didn't sound the same..
"T-Thanks guys.." her voice was shaky but I can understand why. She didn't deserve this at all.
"Ruby.. you've been upset for the last two hours now.. try and cheer up. Nora was right earlier. Weiss will realise that she messed up and she'll want you back" Ren said. She nodded and sat up. We spoke for a while then decided we should get back to our dorms. Ruby really didn't want to so she went to my dorm with Jaune, Ren and Nora while I went to speak to the ice queen herself. Weiss. I knocked on the door and she answered. Has she been crying?
"Ruby isn't here." She said as she went to close the door. I put my foot in the way so she couldn't close it.
"I know she isn't Weiss. I'm here to talk to you about Ruby"
"Fine. Come in" Weiss said followed by a sigh. I went and sat down with Weiss.
"Weiss listen.. Ruby is actually heartbroken.. I don't know if you've seen her since she got changed but the ruby I know she would never wear what she's wearing now. When she speaks her voice sounds shaky and whenever someone mentions your name, she smiles for a moment then that smile turns straight back into a frown.. she loves you so so much Weiss.. this has been planned for weeks and she didn't want to upset us by saying she didn't want to come." Weiss looked down and let out a sigh. I could tell she was also really upset. But Ruby was way worse..
"I-I'll speak to her when s-she gets back Pyrrah.. thank you f-for telling me.. I honestly really appreciate it. I promise I will try and sort things out with her.." Weiss said as she looked back up at me.. I'm glad I spoke to Weiss.. I hate seeing Ruby in the state she's in now.. we spoke a bit more then I left. I told Ruby what Weiss said and Ruby's face lit up. I knew that Ruby would instantly forgive Weiss. She hugged me, thanked us all then left to go back to her dorm room to see Weiss.
