The 4th great ninja war was over and they all have come back home and everyone was safe but... not Neji, your boyfriend and soon to be husband but now... that's not gonna happen.

All your friends, your family, everyone in the village looked down at the three graves there

Shikaku Nara, Inoichi Yamanaka, Neji Hyūga laid. You stood with the Hyūga's as Hinata was hugging you as you both cried silently.

Not just had she lost her love, she had also lost her dad. Inoichi Yamanaka, her sister, I was crying her eyes out... same as the rest of the village. You glanced at your friends to see them looking at you and the Hyūga's in pity.

You hated this feeling, heartbroken, lonely, helpless... the feeling of knowing you never can see Neji or your father again... you looked down at your boyfriend's headband that you had in your hands, more tears falling down your cheeks and landing on it.

"Why?" You asked quietly and Hinata looked at you "Why does this have to happen? Why couldn't everyone just stay alive and safe" you said and Hinata looked at you in sadness, more tears streamed down her now red cheeks. She hugged you tighter and you returned the favor. "I'm sorry" she whispered and you shook your head no "You have nothing to say sorry for. It wasn't your fault..." you whispered back and looked at Neji's grave, you smiled a small smile. "Even if he's gone here physically, he's still here in our hearts and minds..." I said and Hinata smiled down at me, knowing it was tough for you to say that...

Some years later

You had taken some flowers from your family's flower shop, you walked down the village with your 7-year-old son. After the village was cleaned up and knowing everyone was safe, you adopted a son, he was the happiest child you ever saw besides what Naruto was as a kid.

You sighed as you saw your son run to your friends' Shikamaru's and Choji's kids.
You smiled as you walked over to them too "Hi guys!" You said and they looked at you
"Hi Y/n! Who're the flowers for?!" Choji asked and you looked down at the f/c flowers in your hands. You had a sad smile on your lips
"It's for Neji, isn't it?" Shikamaru asked and you nodded slowly "Yeah," you said and looked at your two friends. Shikamaru held a hand on your shoulder "Good luck... with... talking to him" he said and you smiled. "Thanks" you mumbled and turned to your son
"S/n! We have to go, say goodbye!" You called and he waved at Chōchō and Shikadai as he grabbed your hand and you both walked away.

You walked up to your father's and Neji's graves, you split up the flowers and laid them on both their graves. On your father's grave, you laid a picture of you and your family. S/n looked at the photo and then at you "Is this grandpa?" He asked and you nodded "Yea... he was the best dad I could ever have," you said as you laid a picture of you and Neji on his grave. "And this..." you began with a small smile
"Was supposed to be your dad... handsome, isn't he?" You asked jokingly and S/n looked at you in confusion
"But, if he was alive... wouldn't you have an own child and not... me," he asked and you hugged him
"No... I can't have an own child..." you said and he looked up at you in shock, you smiled down at him and ruffled his hair when you saw Boruto and Naruto walk up to you guys.

S/n and Boruto high-fived and both you and Naruto smiled down at them "Hi Naruto... how does it feel to know you're going to be the Hokage soon?" You asked and he smiled "Good, I'm hyped up!" He said and you laughed. Boruto sweatdropped and dragged S/n away from his father and you.

Naruto turned to a serious expression as you turned to your lover's grave, holding your arm. Naruto walked up to you and hugged your shoulder "You're strong... you know that" he said and you slightly smiled "Thanks... but I think it's you and Hinata that is the strongest here... she lost her cousin and you lost a friend... plus... you both saw him die..." you said, tears starting to drop down from your eyes.

"Idk about that... sure, we saw him... die but, you lost your beloved and your father at the same time... and now, you're taking care of S/n even if you still are broken" you looked up at him and he smiled down at you.

You sighed and laid your head on his shoulder "Thanks Naruto... or should I say lord Hokage..." you said playfully and he laughed nervously "No thank you... Naruto is good" he said and you felt two pairs of arms around you, you looked down to see both S/n and Boruto hugging you by your legs, you smiled down at them and Naruto chuckled "What are you two doing?" You asked and they smiled up at you "Comforting you!" They both said in unison and the two adults laughed. You ruffled their hairs "Thanks, I'm feeling much better" you said and they let you go. Boruto looked at his father "Dad! Let's go, mom and Hima are waiting for us!" He said and Naruto nodded "See ya! Y/n, S/n!" He said and ruffled your son's hair. You both waved at them and you kneeled down to S/n's level "Go and find Shikadai and Chōchō, I catch up later" you said and he nodded, he hugged you before running off.

You sighed and turned around so you looked down at your lover's grave again
"Neji... it's been so many years now... I still miss you... you don't have a clue on how much I miss your kisses, your hugs, your tough, comfort... I know that you and S/n would have loved each other... you would have been a great father. Hehe, and Hinata is still telling stories about you and your team when you were small to Boruto and Hima. And I still telling S/n about how you and I meet, and our fights, he loves them..." you said laughing.

Tears formed in your e/c eyes and your smile changed into a frown "I can't take it anymore..." you whispered and feel to your knees, your head in your hands as tears fell down
"I can't... I miss you too much... if I had known that the time I said "I love you" before you left would be my last... I wouldn't have let you go. I'm trying to hold me up every day and say that you're still here with me but... every time I wake up from a dream and you're not there beside me... I feel empty. I love you so much!" You said and let your tears out.

You felt a cold aura around you and something that pressed itself onto your cheek, you looked up to widen your eyes. Neji... or more like... his spirit.
"Neji..." you whispered, not believing your eyes. He was smiling at you, his face showed love and hurt that he couldn't be with you "My love..." you heard his voice say "Don't cry... I'm always with you... don't give up yet... you have to be strong... not just for me, but also for S/n, he need you... more than ever," He said as he wiped the tears away with his cold and transparent thumb. You lead to his tough and slightly smiled "Neji... I love you" you said and he smiled at you "I love you too... don't ever forget that," he said and vanished. More tears streamed down your tears, it was so much more you wanted to say but couldn't "Y/n" you heard a voice behind you to see Shikamaru and Ino. You stood up and they walked up to you... Ino hugged you and you returned it, crying on her shoulder. "Shh, It's okay..." she said and smiled "As he said... he's always with you, no matter what" she said and your eyes widen "Y-You saw?" You asked and looked at Shikamaru that was smiling and nodded.

You smiled and looked over at your fathers grave "I hope father and Neiji see us now..." you said and Ino sighed "Father would 100% smile and Neji wouldn't show any emotion at all..." she said smiling, you giggled "Yeah... father really love us, huh?" You said and Ino sighed "Yeah" she growled annoyed and both you and Shikamaru laughed at her.

"C'mon, let's head back to find the kids," you said and they nodded and started to walk away. You turned to Neji's grave again the last time, you took out his headband from your pockets "Until we meet again, my love, father" you said and laid his headband on the grave before walking away with your sister and friend.

What she didn't know was that both her father and Neji's spirits were watching them the whole time "Until we meet again darling..."
