"Black?"
I mumbled, a pillow over my head, not wanting to go to my duties as empress. I was still a teen- in my head anyway.
"Black. We need to talk now!"
I grumbled from under the pillow, rolling my eyes as I eventually got up from my shortened slumber.
"What's the matter?" I asked groggily, rubbing my eyes.
"He's missing." Ebony blabbered out, without context
"What? Who's missing?"
"Ralph.."
"What?!"
I instantly shot out of my bed, snapped my fingers and clothes appeared onto my skin; grabbing Ebony's hand I rushed downstairs into the offices, where Coyote was sitting worriedly.
"Coy!"
"Black, finally, help us out here. Where could he have gone? The underworld isn't that big right?"
I put my free hand to my head, thinking wildly "I- I guess it's technically not as big as Earth, but why only think about the underworld? He could've gone anywhere. He knows how to get to different dimensions- he was my best friend for over 3000 years for Christ sake!"

Was.
I felt the words slip out of my mouth.
I should've used is.. Right?
One argument doesn't destroy a friendship.. Right?

"Black- this is seriously not the time to think about what's happened. We need to find him." Ebony shook my shoulders, looking me in the eyes sternly.
"Right! Sorry. I- erm- god think. Maybe.. He went back to Earth?"
"Why would he do that though?"
"Maybe because he knows I can't go back." I mumbled
"No. He wouldn't." Another voice dropped into the crisis of a conversation like a bomb. Wentworth. "The last time he was with me and perfectly normal was when we got back from your dimension. We got back to the mansion and he had gone the next morning."
"Ok. Let's not panic okay?" Ebony jumped in, seeing my worried face, "he'll most likely still be in the underworld, right? So let's look where he is normally. He's a communications officer, so maybe around the streets and the public."
"Great idea Ebony!" Coyote smiles with a glimpse of hope, standing up "Right. Let's split up and look for him. Because we can all communicate without being next to eachother-"
"What about-" Wentworth tried to but in but Coyote just spoke louder over him
"AND WE CAN ALL HEAR WENTWORTH DUE TO OUR MINDREADING."
"Dude you can't hear that far.." I mumbled
"I've been training ya know.. Yes I can."
"Okay then Coy- if you say so."
There was no point in arguing with him. So, I talked with the guards at the front of the castle gates that we'd be doing duties in the cities, and we split up.

Wentworth looked around military zones, due to his high rank.
Coyote went into the streets, as he could get through crowds the fastest due to his speed.
Ebony went to the arrivals of the underworld, for whoever got sent down here. Maybe Ralph was speaking to the new arrivals, to help them? Was her thought.
I took the high ground and alleys. It was safer for me due to then not many would see me and stop an investigation.

Hours passed. An entire day wasted. No communications made. He wasn't found. Nothing.
With a sigh, as I heard a clock strike midnight I teleported myself back to the castle, to see Ebony, Coyote and Wentworth waiting for me. Simultaneously before they spoke I shook my head.
"We'll sort another search tomorrow.. Okay?" Coyote spoke up, his tone optimistic but his facial expressions spoke otherwise.
"Yes.. Alright.." I mumbled "If you don't mind I'm going to my quarters. I need to be alone. And think I mean."
"I'll be up in a minute." Ebony smiled weakly, as I teleported upstairs.

I sighed loudly, opening my bedroom door.

"God what's got you so down in your spirits Black?"

"It's just-" I stopped, noticing the figure lying upon my bed.

"RALPH?"
