Katie's pov
I dragged his hand and made him sit down next to me. Away from Cameron I could see he wanted to get away from him and make new friends. I could also see Cameron's reaction to that. He was infuriated. He'd gone a shade of red as he sat next to one of my old friends , Emily.
Alex looked at me , thankful. His eyes...I got lost in them. They were oceans of hidden emotion . They seemed desperate for a friend. I looked deep into his hazel eyes. I could see the universe in them. I'd never felt this way before. What was this feeling? Could it be? Was I...In love?
"Alright children here's your timetables enjoy your first day of year 7."
Alex smiled at me as he helped me up.
"Um..Katie ..do you want to-"
"Go to class together?"
"Yes. That" he smiled at me nervously. His smile. Every time I saw him smile I could hear violins in my ears and rose petals falling around us...could he possibly feel the same?
The first 3 periods went fast with Alex. He was smart and fun-loving and I learnt quite a bit about him. It was time for lunch and Cameron was approaching us.
"K...Katie..."
" Yes let's eat lunch together. Alone. "
He smiled at me , relieved . His nervousness was cute but it was getting worse as Cameron approached.
"Hey Alex should we-"
" He wants to eat lunch with me. Alone " I interrupted.
" Can you let him speak for himself? I wasn't talking to you" Caneron snapped back at me. I was about to lash out at him when Alex held me back.
"Don't waste your time on him, go towards the canteen and get food, I'm coming..." I did as I was told and went..I wonder what Alex was saying...
