Vanessa's POV
A few days after our agreement, Sabi, the boys and I went to visit our parents and explain our 'situation' as best as we could. It went a little like this;
Flashback:
First we went to my house, since apparently my parents are easier to talk to. Lies! Anyway, Sabi, Marvin and I pulled up to the place I have always called home. All of us sat in the car for a bit, trying to calm our nerves. Sabrina came along because she's like my parent's second child. I swear, it's like they love her more but I'm fine with it.
While I was trying to calm my racing heart, I felt Marvin grab my hand and tighten his hold. This is probably the most nervous I've ever seen him be. Even when he asked me out, he wasn't like this.
"Babe, you're gonna be fine. You're acting like they're gonna kill you for dating me." I said trying to calm him down.
"Well they might." Sabrina happily noted.
I face-palmed myself. This girl! I turned and glared at her, making her look anywhere but me.
"Don't listen to her babe. They're gonna love you" This seemed to calm him down, just a bit.
"Okay. I think I'm ready" He said, climbing out of the car.
Here goes nothing, I thought.
Getting out of the car, I locked it behind me as we made our way to the front door. I made Sabrina go walk ahead of us first since she's my parents favorite and seeing her will ease the tension that was to come.
Sabi walked up to the door and rang the doorbell. After a few seconds, my mom opened the door smiling at her two daughters.
"Hi my beautiful girls! This is such a wonderful surprise. Michael, come look who's here!" My mom said, calling my dad to the front door.
Within a few seconds, I saw my dad with the biggest smile on his face. I started tearing up. As you can see, I'm definitely a daddy's girl.
"Look at that! My two daughters are alive!" He said, making all of us laugh.
His eyes went from Sabi's face to mine to something behind me.
"Babygirl, who's the young man behind you?" Dad asked with a slight smile on his face and a bright smile on my mom's face.
"That's why we're here. May we come in?"
"Of course!"
All of us made our way inside.
Everything was still the way I remembered it to be before I left. And now I was back, to tell my parents about my boyfriend......What a great way to do this! I thought.
"Come, we can all sit in the living room. Did you girls want anything to drink or eat? How about you young--"
"Marvin, my name is Marvin." He said with a smile and extended his hand out to shake my dad's hand.
"What are your true intentions with my daughter?" Dad asked, and everyone could feel the tension in the room.
"Ahh, I'm just kidding. Take a seat and make yourself feel at home son."
This was going way better than I thought, I smiled at Sabrina who seemed to be equally happy herself.
She was staring at her phone and I could only imagine who she could be texting.
