Vanessa's POV
Turning around, I saw a tall man staring outside a large window with 2 champagne glasses in his hands. He turned around and walked up to me. In the light, I could see his features more prominently. He had sun-kissed skin, short curly hair and green-hazel eyes. When he smiled, his pearly white teeth and fangs were on display.
He offered me one of the glasses. I declined but his eyes changing from green-hazel to black made me rethink my decision and hesitantly I took the glass from his hand. Taking my hand, he walked me over to the dining table, pulled out my chair allowing me to sit and pushed it in, he then took a seat to the left of me in his 'royal' chair.
I began to open my mouth to ask the millions of questions I had on my mind but a simple raise of his hand stopped me.
"We will talk once the food arrives." He simply said.
A few minutes later, our food arrived. I just stared at it while he began eating. I could feel him look up at me from his plate.
"You're not gonna eat?" He asked. I could hear an amusing tone in his voice.
"Not hungry." I replied, still staring at the plate. That was a lie. I was barely halfway done with my food from the restaurant. I'm actually starving.
"You're lying. I know you're hungry, I can hear your stomach growling."
Damn it!
"Since you don't want to eat, I guess we can get down to business. Ask away." he said, leaning back in his chair.
Turning my full attention to him, I ask, "Why am I here?"
He looked me straight in the eye then stood up from his seat and offered me his hand. I hesitantly took it and he led me out the door, down a hallway then to an office. The office was probably two times the size of the bedroom I was in.
I looked around the room in amazement. What? I love antiques!
After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke up.
"Now, the reason why you're here is because I have a proposal for you." He walks over to his desk, opens a drawer and pulls out a small box. He then walks over to me and stares at the box then me then gives me the box.
"Open it." He says softly.
I look at him then the box. Taking a deep breath, I lift the lid of the box and see a beautiful red diamond ring with a white diamond on either side of it.
