It felt like I was hearing things. Rose couldn't be more than my age and she was married to this idiot? I wonder if she knew about the marriage proposal the other night.

"How old are you?" I asked her concerned.

"I'm 16, he waited until my 16th birthday to marry me. He had promised so much and well now I'm just his personal slave. He's trying to get me pregnant to pass on the heir and keep the crown in his birth-line." she had tears in her eyes.

"Rose that's terrible! You need to get out of here! You can't keep living like this, you're too young to be going through something like this." I exclaimed.

"No Vanessa, I would rather you go. You said you have a family and I'm sure that they miss you dearly. My family disowned me after this whole thing and now I have no idea on their whereabouts. Please you deserve so much better than being trapped here like me." she said.

"But I want to help you out Hun. This isn't right, he isn't and shouldn't be allowed to get away with this!" I started, more angry now.

"Vanessa, despite everything that happened, I still love him. I know it sounds messed up but I choose to leave my family to come here. I really want to genuinely help you. Please I'm begging you, leave this misery for me."

"Rose, how do you know I have powers?" I asked, suddenly.

"Everyone that Christian summons has powers. They become powerless because of this hell--I mean castle and most give up because they feel they will never see the light of day again. You aren't the first Vanessa." she replied.

Not the first? How many others have there been?

"That makes sense...." I said trailing off.

We heard a knock at the door and a voice saying something. Christian. I signaled for Rose to calm down that I will handle it.

I walked over to the door. "Good morning, beautiful. Now that you had a whole night to sleep on my question, I think you owe me an answer." he said with a smirk.

"Christian I already told you no!" I exclaimed trying to shut the door on him.

"I say you think again sweetheart. You wouldn't want to make me mad--Rose?" he said peering into my room.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be doing the chores like I instructed?" he directed his voice at her.

"I-I--" she started but I jumped in.

"She was helping me find something I thought I lost. Thank you Rose, I will let you know if I need anything." I said to her and she nodded walking out of the room.

Strange, she didn't seem surprised when she heard Christian question me. I wonder what was really going on.

Later that Day......

I was still in my room when another note came through the slit at the bottom of the door. Christian hadn't noticed that my things were being packed so thank god for that. I walked over to the door picking up the note.

I'm not surprised, I know what he asked you. I can't tell you what to do, but I think you're smart enough to figure out to run very far away. You aren't the first girl that he's asked, but then again I'm not surprised. I'm not really much to look at it and I was never able to keep him happy, he's looking for other ways to get an heir to his throne. He asked the first girl right in front of me and that's when I knew he was a low life. I really am trying to genuinely help you.

~Rose

I didn't know how I was supposed to react after reading this. That monster destroyed Rose's confidence but yet she loved him. I felt so bad for her but she said she was happy to stay here and I knew I couldn't change her mind. Things were just going to have stay the way they are I guess.

Later that Evening....

I managed to stay out of Christian's way for the remainder of the day and he could sense that I wanted to be left alone so he respected my wishes. Which I found to be weird but I didn't say anything. I was almost done cleaning around when I heard a knock at my door.

"Vanessa? Can I talk to you?" Christian asked on the other side of the door.

"What do you want Christian, I'm busy."

"Busy doing what love?"

"Busy doing none of your damn business." I said with a little sass.

"Feisty, I like it." he said, and even though I couldn't see him I could tell there was a stupid smirk on his face. I wanted to slap it off so badly.

Unlike Rose or the rest of the other girls, I wasn't scared of him and somehow he knew that, reason why he kept bothering me.

"Go away Christian, I have nothing left to say to you."

"What did that bitch say to you?" He sounded angered now.

This made my blood boil listening to how he talked about Rose. I walked over to the door, opening it and slapped him hard across the face. This only seemed to make him happy, of course he liked it.

"How dare you. That is your god damn wife, YOU don't get to talk about her that way." Once again my mouth got the best of me.

"How did you know that was my wife? Ohhh she's been talking again. I will straighten her out tonight don't worry." he said, answering his own question.

I hated it when guys would ask a question and then answer it themselves. But for some reason I don't think this idiot even knew what he was saying half the time he spoke.

"That doesn't matter. I know a lot more than you think I do." I said, trying to still sound strong and unwavered.

"Oh really? I would love to know what else you think you know." he said coyly.

"Don't worry about it." I said, avoiding eye contact with him.

He came closer to me until there was the slightest bit of distance between us. I could feel his hot breath on my face and I stood there patient, still not looking him in the eye. I had an idea but I waited to see what he was going to do first.

He came right up to my face and whispered into my ear, "I think you should reconsider your answer."

He lingered there for a little and that's when I sprung into action, I kneed him hard in his area and made a run for it. He screamed out in pain and cursed and I knew once he could stand again he would be after me. I went to find Rose and bumped into her in the living quarters.

She looked surprised to see me but knew something was wrong.

"Vanessa, what's wrong?" she asked.

"Your husband," I said out of breath.

"I need to get out of here as soon as possible." I said.
