Vanessa's POV
"Babe, you okay? I heard you shriek and didn't feel you under my hand." Marvin asked worriedly and half asleep.
"Call Sabrina and Ryan." I whispered, with my eyes still staring at the door.
A few minutes later, the 4 of us were in the living room half asleep struggling to stay awake and figure out what was happening.
Sabrina's POV
"Nessa, please explain to me why you woke all of us up at 5 in the morning?" I asked, quite pissed that my wonderful sleep was interrupted.
"There's something behind the door in my closet and we need to find out what it is."
"How are we supposed to do that when we don't know where the key is?" Ryan asked.
We all sat on the couch and thought long and hard on where the key could be.
Suddenly, I jumped up.
"I have an idea! Remember the small box we found when we first moved in?" I asked Vanessa.
"Oh yeah! I forgot about that!?" She exclaimed.
"Excuse me. I don't wanna interrupt your little moment but could you please explain what you guys are all excited about to your clueless boyfriends over here?" Ryan said, a bit annoyed at how we were acting.
That's when we began explaining,
"When we moved in and rearranged the room, we found this cardboard box that read 'DO NOT OPEN.' Us being us, decided to open it. Inside the box was a smaller navy blue box, resembling an engagement ring box wrapped up in a silky navy ribbon." Nessa explained to them.
"Attached to it was a note that said 'To whoever finds this box, don't open it! Opening it will unleash great evil onto the world. To protect yourself and the world, never open this box'." I continued.
"So where's the box now?" Marvin asked.
"I don't know. Sab was the one who hid it in a place we'd never find it." They all turned to me. I was trying to remember where I put the stupid box. Suddenly, it clicked.
"I remember! I put it in my shoe!!"
I felt everyone looking at me.
"Babe, do you mean your shoe box..?" Ryan asked nervously.
"Yeah, see you knew what I meant." I said smiling at him.
"What? My shoe box was the safest place to pack it away in my closet." I said, dragging Ry into my room. Vanessa and Marvin following behind.
Upon entering my room, I headed straight for my closet. I had packed the box under a bunch of other boxes that I had, trying to make the best use of the space. Once I found it, I took it out and brought it over to the bed, opening it for everyone to see. Just like I had left it, the tiny box was still inside.
Everyone just stared at the box in thought and wonder.
How can something so beautiful looking, hold something so evil and dangerous?
"Okay, enough staring at it. I think we should open it and see if it holds the key." I stated.
"But who's gonna open it?" Ryan asked.
"Since the lost souls are trapped in Nessa's room, she should open it." I suggested.
Vanessa slowly turned and glared at me. If looks could kill, I'd be 6ft under right now. Taking the tiny box into her hands, she slowly lifts up the lid revealing a small gold key.
Scratch! Bang....! Bang....! Scratch!
The noise could be heard from all throughout the apartment. And it was getting louder by the second. All of a sudden, the lights went out. With our basic knowledge of the layout of the apartment, we all slowly made our way to Vanessa's room.
It was pin drop silent again, and then we heard it.....Bang! Bang! Bang! Only this time, it sounded like gunshots.
"Hey guys.....I think that's blood!" Marvin exclaimed. We all turned to where he was looking and saw that the door in Nessa's closet was oozing with blood.
"What the hell?! How is this happening??" I exclaimed.
"What do we do?" Ryan asked.
Nessa and I looked at each other and nodded in a silent agreement.
The both of us made our way to the bleeding door, leaving or confused boyfriends behind. Holding each other's hand, Vanessa took the key and unlocked the door.
