Vanessa's POV
After eating, Sabi made an announcement.
"Nessa has something she wants to tell us."
Everyone then turned to me.
"I know how I can protect the baby so that nothing happens to it." I said proudly.
"Tell us!" Ryan said.
"There's a protection spell I can put on the baby and Sabi. But we have to do it before the 48 hours are up." I explained.
Ryan and Sabi looked at each other, as if having a similar thought.
"If that's all it takes sis, why don't we just go ahead and do it?" Sabi questioned.
"It's not that simple sis."
Sabrina's POV
"Of course it isn't." I said, under my breath but Ryan turned and gave me the look.
I could tell she disregarded this comment as she continued talking.
"Well, seeing as 24 hours is almost up, we have to work fast. The spell takes 6 hours to work and I have to find the spell book." she trailed off.
"You have to what??" I started freaking out and got up too fast. Ryan had to hold me to steady my balance.
"I have to find the spell book. I saw it when we moved in but I don't remember where." she said.
"Fantastic!" I exclaimed.
I wasn't trying to make a scene or anything but this was getting tiring. Being pregnant was stressing me out more than usual and I knew this wasn't going to be good for the baby.
"Baby, I think you should get some rest. It's been a long tiring day for all of us, but you the most. Go get ready for bed, I'll be there soon." Ryan said, looking into my eyes.
I hated how cute he looked when he was begging me to take care of myself. I know this whole discussion did involve me, but he was right, I did need rest. He got up and kissed me before taking me over to our bedroom.
I got ready for bed, and was out within seconds of hitting the mattress.
Ryan's POV
I didn't need Sabi to be stressing more than she needed too. It wasn't good for her or the baby. I was going to work with Nessa and Marvin to come up with a finalized plan and then tell her. I didn't want to do this without her, but she would thank me later.
I was so exhausted, even after taking a nap earlier and still in a little bit of pain from hitting the floor so hard.
Stupid floor
I went to our room door and noticed how peaceful and beautiful Sabrina looked sleeping. I'm glad she's getting rest. I pulled the door in a little more, before returning back to the counter table. We were going to find this book no matter how long it took.
I grabbed a box from the corner of the room and started to go through it. Baby photo albums from both Nessa and Sabi, a few game boxes and some fiction books. I looked through the books quickly just to make sure that the spell book wasn't there for sure. And that's when I noticed it.
"Ahh, guys, I think you should come over and see this." I said with disappointment rising in my voice.
Vanessa's POV
"Are you kidding me?" I said, with tears welling in my eyes.
I held the book in my hand looking at it and I was starting to feel like giving up. The page where the spell should have been was torn out.
Seeing me in this state, Marvin raced over to hold me up.
"It could be anywhere and we are running out of time."
I looked up at Ryan who looked like he was going to break down crying at any minute.
"I'm so sorry hun." I said, and that's all it took.
He put his hands over his face and walked away. Marvin got up to go after him, but I held his arm to keep him from moving. He was going to the one place I knew that he was going to feel better, by Sabi's side.
I glanced at the clock on the wall, it read 11:30 PM. It was late and Marvin and I were equally tired but the silent look we gave one another next was what encouraged me to keep going.
Ryan was like my older brother and Sabi was my sister. I had to do all I could to help them out and save their baby no matter what.
This baby made Sabi and Ryan so much more happy than I ever recall seeing them. I was going to continue looking all night if I had too.
Marvin's POV
I must have fallen asleep because I felt someone rocking me awake. I opened my eyes slightly to see an excited, tired Nessa waving around some paper. I glanced at the clock, once my eyes adjusted to the light, which read 2:30 AM.
"I found it babe!" she said excitedly.
"Oh thank god!" I said a silent prayer.
"Ryan and Sabi will be so happy when we tell them in the morning. I can finally go to sleep in peace." she said happily.
"You need your rest babe," I couldn't even finish my sentence because she knocked out right on my chest.
I moved her head slightly so she would be a little more comfortable and closed my eyes. I was so happy she found it, this spell was going to be the good news everyone needed to hear in the morning.
