"Sis, oh my god, how did this happen?--I mean I know how it happened, but when?? Does Ryan know?" she asked freaking out but excited.

"I don't know sis," I said as the tears started falling faster and faster. "It all just happened so fast and no he doesn't know..."

"When are you going to tell him? Are you going to tell mom and dad?" she asked.

"No, please, I'm begging you. Looking at me you can't tell right now, let me get through one hurdle at a time. Please, I'm begging you don't say anything, not even to Ryan. I was planning on talking about it with him later tonight actually but I want to be the one to tell him." I said, with a pleading look in my eyes.

"I won't say a word hun, I promise. I'm so happy for you. I'm gonna be an auntie!" she said coming in for a hug and doing a little dance.

"Thank you sis. Okay, time to call the boys back." I said sniffling and drying my tears.

"Let me call them," Vanessa said, taking out her cellphone.

"Hey babe, is Ryan close by to you?"

I shot her a look and she stopped cold.

"Sorry" she mouthed.

"You guys can come back now."

Once the boys arrived back, Ryan took my hand in his and we walked up the driveway together. I took a deep breath, told him to stand behind me (like that was going to do anything, he was so much taller than me, so my parents were bound to see him first when they opened the door).

"On second thought babe, I don't think I can do this."

He stopped me just as I turned to walk back to the car and Vanessa looked worried. His hand was on my stomach and I said a silent prayer.

"Babe, we got this far, please." he said looking into my eyes.

"Okay," I said with a slight smile.

I rang the bell and was greeted by my mom first.

"Hi honey, what a nice surprise. Vani! Hi how are you sweetheart?" she said hugging her first.

She moved aside for all of us to come in.

"Don't be rude, introduce me to your friends," my mom said jokingly.

"Mom, this is Marvin and his...roommate Ryan." I said stepping aside.

I hoped she didn't hear the hesitation in my voice.

My dad came around the corner, and everyone, including my mom seemed to turn their attention to him. Thank god.

"Hi honey, what a nice surprise! Hi Vanessa, how are you?" he asked, smiling.

Vanessa gave him a deadpan look. She looked shocked to see him there, but she never liked my dad.

I was just as shocked as her to see my dad here but I learned not to ask questions

"What the hell are you doing here?" I said. I know I sounded cold but after what I went through with him as a child, I was shocked that my mom even let her back into her house.

"Honey, don't be rude." mom said.

She continued: "I had told him you were coming over and that you had said you wanted to talk."

"Yeah, I said I wanted to talk. I called you mom."

The tension in the room was so thick, you could probably cut it with a knife.

Thankfully, Ryan ended it.

"Maybe we should leave and give you guys some privacy." he said.

"No, it's okay, give me five minutes and I'm coming."

I gave him the key and him and Marvin walked out the room. Vanessa didn't want to leave, so I told her she could stay if she wanted.

I waited to hear that there were no more footsteps and that the door behind was closed before I continued.

"I came to talk to mom, so if you wouldn't mind, that's what I will do." I said.

He looked kind of hurt, but it didn't matter. I couldn't stand to say what I was going to, in front of him. It made it worse that Ryan was right outside. God knows what would have happened.

I pulled mom into the other room and sat her down on the couch. Vanessa was here with me, and that helped a lot. I was going to need a shoulder to cry on as I was walking out.

"I'm not going to waste anymore time. Nessa and I's apartment is being fumigated for bugs so the boys have offered us to stay with them for the time being. Nessa's parents already agreed." I paused, giving mom some time to think.

"Wow um... okay then. I guess it's okay with me. I mean, you're old enough to make your own decisions and I know you'll make the right one." She said with a smile.

I released a breath I didn't even know I was holding. Nessa squeezed my hand in reassurance and nodded at me.

I knew I should tell her about the other thing, but I wanted Ryan to be the next to find out. I know Vani was having a hard time holding it in.

I got up to leave and she took my hand.

"Thank you for coming to visit sweetheart and I know this wasn't easy. I know how you feel about your dad and me in the same house, but things are different now." she had a pleading look in her face as if to ask for my forgiveness.

"I just came to tell you that because I thought you deserved to know. Bye mom."

She went to give me a hug and seeing Vani's face, I decided to hug her back.

I was going to have a lot of apologizing to do with Ryan, I just hoped he would be too distracted by the good news I was going to give him later tonight.
