"Here," Jeongyeon handed Dahyun a bottled water and sat beside her.
"Thanks," Dahyun said.
"Wah, now I know why everyone's talking about you," Jeongyeon remarked, staring at her.
Dahyun gave her a questioning look. "What do you mean?" she asked, feeling anxious. She never realized that other people are talking about her.
"Jimin's new girlfriend, the one who'll beat Choi Minhee, the pretty transferee," Jeongyeon recited. She paused a bit then glanced at Taehyung who is now playing volleyball with their other male classmates. "And now, Kim Taehyung's property."
"I don't understand what you're saying, but I'm not Jimin's girlfriend, definitely not competing with Minhee, I never find myself attractive, and I'm surely not anyone's property," she clarified.
Jeongyeon smirked. "You can't control people's mind, especially their filthy mouths," she said. "Even if you tell them the truth, they'll still think you're lying." She took a gulp of her water. "So, if I were you, be careful. Don't let your emotions get to you."
"Thanks for the advice but I'm fine," Dahyun said, struggling to open the bottled water.
Jeongyeon laughed at her. "Seriously?" She grabbed the bottled water on her hand and opened it easily. "Says the one who said she's fine," she teased.
Dahyun gave her a small smile. "Thank you," she said.
"For opening that bottled water? Nah, it's nothing," Jeongyeon said, laughing a bit.
"No, not only that," Dahyun said. "Thank you for talking to me and helping me out earlier during the game."
"That's the least I can do," Jeongyeon replied. "I've been on your place before."
Dahyun looked at her. "What do you mean?" she asked.
"Being bullied, called out names, seeing as a threat for Minhee," Jeongyeon said. "It sickening," she added, sounding mad and fed up. "I endured all the harsh words and accusations thrown at me. But look at me now?" She stared back at Dahyun. "I've gotten stronger. I fought back. I speak up even though no one will believe me. I let go of people who's giving me a hard time. I choose people who choose me."
Choose people who choose you. It continuosly run on Dahyun's mind. Simple words that had a deep meaning.
Dahyun glanced at Taehyung who's seriously playing volleyball. And she can't help but wonder who'll he choose between her and Minhee.
Just the thought of it made her already feel scared considering their situation right now. He'll probably choose her.
"You're spacing out again," Jeongyeon told her. "You know what I noticed," she paused, waiting for Dahyun to hear her out.
"What is it?" Dahyun asked.
"Kim Taehyung cares about you," she said, sounding really sure.
"What?" She was surprised for what she said. "He hates me," she sadly said. "And besides, Minhee and him are obviously in a relationship."
"What? Minhee?" Jeongyeon laughed. "Right now, I can imagine her trying to get Jimin's attention back instead of listening to the lecture." Jeongyeon stood up and pulled Dahyun up as well. "Let's go. The game's over," she said.
Then she noticed Dahyun's PE shirt. "Your shirt is seriously bothering me. Did they gave you a wrong size? It's obviously a male size," she said, trying not to laugh.
"The truth is, I found my shirt ruined and full of dirt," Dahyun revealed.
"What?" Jeongyeon tried to lower down her voice. "Aish, they're really doing this on purpose."
