The Volleyball Practice

HINATA's POV

We raced towards the club rooms entrance, especially since it's been our ritual.

🟠"HAHA IN YOUR FACE!!"

He catches his breath,

⚫️"We are tied with 421, wins... ha."

🟠"Heh, it really is 421 Huh?"

🧂"Again with the childish ritual. How pathetic."

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi snicker their way in.

We are so used to this but we still think it's annoying. The other members were already inside the gym and Kageyama and I still had to change. We walk inside the club room and change into our gym uniforms. We again had some alone time since Tsukishima and Yamaguchi had already finished before us.

⚫️"How does it feel?"

🟠"Huh?"

⚫️"To be the Ace, especially ever since Asahi left last year. I forgot to ask you that yesterday."

🟠"Oh, well I obviously feel stronger ever since we beat Aoba Johsai and Shiratorizawa before going to nationals. That was the best moment of my life! Everyone happy that we got into nationals. I miss being a first year . . ."

Crap, I know I shouldn't have asked something like that. I can already tell that he's sad. I've been with him since freshman year. I can tell when he changes emotions so fast. There is only one that I haven't seen from him-

🟠"Ah um anyways!"

⚫️"Eh?"

🟠"Lets head over to practice Team Captain!"

⚫️"Stop calling me that."

🟠"You're gonna have to get used to it now that Ennoshita-senpai is gone."

⚫️"R-Right."

We head over to the gym and start on our warmups. I can tell something is on his mind but I decided to rub it off.

We do our practice ritual and I set some spikes to the Ace. We came to master all of our quick deadly attacks and we know that we are more than prepared for any team that came in our way. The first and second years seem to be struggling so me and Hinata help them out by starting a practice game.

Four members on each side. Me and Hinata were on the opposite teams to make the power of attacks even.

We ended the match with 2-1. With Hinata on their side they went for the win. I tried my best at least.

And just like that, Practice ended.

Me, Hinata and Yachi-san stay to clean the gym as everyone else left for the day. We tell her to go change and thank her for the day. She waves her goodbyes and leaves me and Hinata alone once more.

⚫️"Yeah? What's up?"
