Alright so this will be a conversation over the phone.
"Sam I know you're busy with your college crap, but I don't think I can go one more day without hearing your voice." Gabriel muttered to himself as he picked up his house phone and dialed in Sam's number.
Rinnnnnnggg, rinnnnnnggg!
"Hello?" Gabe heard Sam's voice and almost shouted with happiness.
"Uh hi Sammy." Gabe replied in a sheepish tone. He had been so caught up in hearing his voice he hadn't thought about what he would say.
"Gabe, you know I have my 'college crap' as you like to call it." Sam said, slightly exasperated.
"I know, I know, but I couldn't go any longer without hearing your voice. I miss you, Moose."
The irritation melted from Sam. "Oh. I miss you too Gabe. I'll visit you as soon as I can I promise."
"Pinky promise?" Gabe clarified.
"Pinky promise," he confirmed. "I miss hearing your lame jokes and your pranks too."
"And I miss your height and your smile and just basically everything Sammy. Please, please be home soon." Gabe begged Sam.
Sam chuckled. "I will. Don't you worry Gabe. And you know, without you here, all of these college girls keep trying to hit on me. Do you know how annoying it is?" Sam began to complain to Gabriel, who just laughed at him.
"As a matter of fact I do Sammy. People keep asking for the owner of my candy shop because they know I'm pan. But they also know we're dating, so it's kind of really annoying."
"Haha. I'm not out here, so no guys have really tried hitting on me. I want to come out because on one hand college kids literally don't care, but on the other, this place is full of rich kids and trust funds." Sam explained his sitiation.
"Well I understand the rich kids part, but everything else went in one ear and straight out the other. Well not straight." Gabriel giggled at his joke.
"Wow, Gabe. Amazing." Sam deadpanned. Gabriel could hear the bitchface through the phone.
"Awww Sammy I thought you missed my jokes!" Gabriel complained.
"I do miss them Gabe. I miss you so much. Can we just continue talking? So it feels like I'm there?"
"Of course Sammy. Anything for you." Gabriel smiled.
They talked for a couple more hours, catching up on everything, and Gabe even tried to help Sam with his college work. Well sort of.
"So Sammy, we haven't talked about your roommate yet. What's he like?"
"Oh he's fine. His name is Kevin Tran. He was an honors student. Super smart, and he's decently nice to me."
"Oh cool. Can you put him on the phone? I need to make sure he's nice to you." Gabriel said.
"Welll not exactly." Sam replied.
"What do you mean not-"
Knock knock
"Hold on, someone's at the door." Gabriel got up to answer. "And what do you mean to can't put Kev...." He trailed off as he opened the door and saw Sam standing there, slightly wet from the rain that had begun to fall, with a huge smile on his face.
"I couldn't wait." He pulled Gabriel into a huge hug and kissed the top of his head. "I missed you."
Gabriel looked up with an identical smile on his face. "I love you so much. You really drove three hours to see me?"
"I did. As soon as you made me pinky promise I decided I couldn't wait any longer."
Gabriel leaned back and looked into Sam's eyes, puzzled. "We've only been talking for two hours."
Sam grinned sheepishly down at him. "I may have speeded all the way here, but it's only wrong if you get caught, so I mean."
"Wow I must be rubbing off on you." Gabe remarked.
"Well we've been dating for years, so yeah. I think so." Sam said, sassily.
"I love you so much Samoose."
"I love you more, Trickster Angel."
Gabe smiled at the old nickname from sophomore year. It had been Sam's contact name for him. Sam kisses Gabe's forehead and guided him to the couch so they could watch a movie. Preferably Disney.
Another Sabriel chapter.
