Here we go again. Also italics is one or both of them singing along to a song. I'll say if it's my creation or not. Their games are ones I've gotten from posts on Pinterest or Tumblr. Though the "catchphrases" are something my fam does.
"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray to Castiel to get his slow ass out of bed so we can leave," Dean had been up for over an hour in anticipation for their road trip to go see Sam and his boyfriend, Gabriel Odinson.
"Dean I would appreciate it if you refrained from waking me up in the morning." Castiel said, having been woken up by Dean's "prayer".
"Yeah well, I haven't seen Sammy in a year, and I can't wait. Plus I need to make sure that I approve Gabriel." Dean responded, somewhat impatiently. He was ready to leave.
Castiel sighed. "Lucky for you, Dean, I have my belongings packed, so just wait in the car while I do my morning routine. It shouldn't take too long, I showered last night."
Dean hugged and resigned himself to waiting quietly in the driver's seat of his black '69 Chevy Impala. He had inherited it years ago from his dad, while Sammy got some sort of newer, nicer car. But Dean loved the Impala. They had been through a lot together, from breakups and crashes to weddings and first kisses, well there were a lot of firsts....
I hear the drums echoing tonight
She hears only whispers of some quiet conversaaaationsDean was quietly singing along to one of Cas's favorite songs, Africa by Toto-he hated the Wheezer version and so did Dean.
I bless the rains down in Aaafricaa gonna take
the time to do the things we never hAAaaaAaave.
Dun duh duh duh du-duh duh duuuuuh."Hello Dean." Dean jumped and almost threw his phone. Cas had managed to open the door and get in without Dean's noticing.
"Geez Cas! You can't just do that!" Dean exclaimed, though he wasn't angry, just slightly embarrassed.
"Well I'm sorry Dean. I wasn't aware you didn't notice my presence." Castiel apologized, though he wasn't actually sorry.
"Just shut up and kiss me." Dean mumbled, pulling Castiel in for a kiss before he pulled out of the driveway. "We're going to speed most of the six hours so that it actually takes five."
"As long as you provide a semblance of caution and can focus on our games, I'll tolerate it." Castiel responded, referring to some of their concentration games, like word (dis)association, don't get me started, corrupt a wish, and their conspiracy game they had gotten from somewhere. Castiel really enjoyed them and Dean liked them because Cas did.
"Okay fine. Which one?" Dean relented. He had never and would never win that battle. He didn't not like them anyway.
"I was thinking conspiracy or wish. Which would you prefer?" Cas responded enthusiastically. These were his favorite was to pass time on road trips.
"Uhh conspiracy, then wish." Dean stated.
"Okay. Beds and watches."
"Beds and watches?! Geez Cas! You know I'm not exactly a genius." Dean exclaimed. "Okay, ummm," Dean said after thinking for a moment. "I don't expect you to know this, but the only people that have ever gotten bedbugs, wore their watches into bed." Dean said, proud of his conspiracy.
Dean's catchphrase is mine:)
Castiel laughed. "Okay my turn. It's a little known fact that wearing a watch to be will kill your brain cells." Castiel stated.
Cas's is my mom's:)
"Yikes, way to go all morbid there. Okay next round is..." They continued to play for another half hour or so before deciding to switch games.
"Okay, wanna switch to wish? That one is always fun. Especially because it doesn't require much to crush your dreams." Dean laughed at his own words.
"Thanks Dean. Love you too. I wish we could get married all over again." Castiel said, wondering how Dean could possibly corrupt it.
"Granted, but it's in a supermarket and you're dressed in full drag." Dean smirked, proud of his corruption.
"Interesting. Granted, but the night after never happens."
"Ohhh no!" Dean pouted. "That was probably the best night!" He then smirked. "Maaybe we could recreate it." He looked over briefly at Cas with a highly suggestive smile.
Castiel laughed, "Maybe."
"Okay, I'm bored of this already, so music?" Dean said.
"Yeah. Let's listen to-"
"Ohhh no. Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole." Dean commanded.
"Ugh, fine. You're needs come first. What do you want?" Cas responded, albeit passive aggressively.
"I would like Barenaked Ladies. One Week to be specific."
It's been,
One week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said I'm angry
Five days since you laughed at me
Saying get that together come back and see me
Three days since the living room
I realized it was all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
But it'll still be two days til I say I'm sorryDean sang along wholeheartedly, and Cas couldn't help joining in after a couple measures.
How can I help it if you think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin hard not to smile tho I feel bad
I'm the kinda who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean, well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt
It's been
One weekBoth of them were jamming out to the song and having a lot more fun then they should've, but they car ride was a well deserved break from the stresses of work.
Struck by lightning, sounds pretty frightening
"Oooh this one is good!" Dean shouted upon hearing the first lyrics.
"Yes Odds Are is a decent song." Cas agreed. They proceeded to listen to the same band for a couple hours at least before finally pulling over to a gas station for food and gas. Once they finished, they got back in the car and sped off, because Dean still was in a huge hurry. It had been an effort to even get him to stop in the first place.
"Can we put on softer music for the remainder of the ride, Dean? My voice hurts from the excessive use of it." Castiel asked quietly.
"Yeah, of course Cas. You know if you wanted to earlier, you could've asked. Sorry if I was rude. I used to say that cakehole line to Sammy all the time, and he got annoyed, but never thought much of it."
"No it's okay. I just want softer music, that's all. My body has also managed to become tired in the short time I've been conscious." Castiel responded tiredly.
"Of course Angel. You know I love you right?"
"Yes, Dean." Castiel assured him. "And I love you, too." Dean smiled at this, and put on one of Cas's favorite singers.
This is my short beginning to the song. I can write the rest and add chords/notes to it later if someone wanted.
Sitting there, in the darkness of the night
It suddenly hits me that I'm not alright
It's dark and it's cold and lonely up here
And it might be alright if you would appearThe first song, titled Loneliness or something, began softly playing throughout the car and Dean smiled softly. This one was his favorite by said writer. He looked over at Cas, only to see that he was already back asleep.
"I love you." Dean whispered.
Idk I thought this was kind of ehhh. I wanted it to just be kind of normal without proposal or death or stuff like that. It's like 1200 words. The first few ones were pretty short, but I'm trying to keep them 1000 words plus from now on. Also I didn't edit this one.
